Lammy "The grotesque spectacle of kids holding out their hand for food & being shot" Are you imposing sanctions on Israel? No Are you halting all arms sales? No Are you stopping all trade? No Are you ending all military assistance? No Are you expelling the Israeli ambassador? No
Tonight the Knesset has voted overwhelmingly to annex the West Bank, a symbolic move that would be illegal under international law, risks further destruction and ethnic cleansing, and serves a death knell for the two state solution. We must recognise the state of Palestine now.
the governance of professional bodies cannot and never must over ride what is needed for public safety or the importance of duty of candour. I appreciate your views as a supporter of PAs and doctor replacement but that game is over- also due to taking appropriate disregards of…
“When (Resident) doctors can see that they are being paid significantly less and being treated significantly worst than they used to be, then something has to give.” Tonight @RossNieuwoudt spoke to @LBC ahead of strike action across England this week👇 #PayRestoration
@ShelaghFogarty doesn’t care about avoidable deaths on non strike days- avoidable if NHS wasn’t chronically Underfunded &under staffed- Does she blame those responsible? No Instead she wants Drs to work for eroded pay-If we can’t pay Drs their worth,we won’t have many Drs in NHS
Doctor strikes going ahead. A poor decision. I have never striked for a single minute in my fifty plus year career in medicine, and I never will.
@ProfKarolSikora doctors are paid £18ph Physician assistants are paid £24ph Is this fair ? Should Drs be paid less than their assistants who haven’t studied medicine and can’t even prescribe paracetamol or request an X-ray ?
Just a personal view If as a senior clinician you find Resident Doctors position “outrageous”? Then you should also declare your lack of outstanding debts, relevant Clinical awards, Pension pot etc simultaneously And no, we didn’t work “much harder” than them. I should…
This tangle of various 'clinicians' is a nightmare for patients & a joy for trusts wanting to substitute Drs. The more post nominals the bigger the pay. What's happened to the basics? My analogy stands; we're paying more for the health equivalent of a Tesco value sausage
🔥 This is phenomenal from @kitmalthouse. Perfectly clear on Gaza & West Bank. Calm, but very powerful and clear. Everyone please share. It’s important.👇
I write about ARRS on my local media constantly. My friend was diagnosed with IBS, by a PA, when it was actually stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. No no to PAs.
Asked about actions he might take against Israel, David Lammy says its not appropriate to go into detail. Everyone knows what you need to do. End all arms exports. End all trade. End all military assistance. Impose sanctions on the govt & economy. Expel the Israeli ambassador.
The coterie of Labour luvvies running the NHS today must stop looking backwards for policies, they must look forward with evidence, not nostalgia... ... and build a service that works for today, not reheat the failures of yesterday. myemail.constantcontact.com/Yesterday.html…
When are we going to take the appropriate action to bring about a full trade and arms embargo and concentrate the mind of Israel? Because nothing else is working. They're not listening. They're getting away with murder, every single day.
The exact arrogance is the reason why Emily Chesterton’s is dead and her killer didn’t want tighter supervision after her death . I’m not surprised at all. The combination of personalities who apply to the course and whatever is taught to them in those 2 years is deadly .
What surprises me is that others are surprised by this. The arrogance of some PAs - that they can simply refuse to comply with the findings of a review, accepted in full by the SoS - is no different to the arrogance displayed on a daily basis by many others working in healthcare
Most GP appointments are requested online When requesting to see a Gp on the app or online form write clearly at the bottom of your request that you DO NOT wish to be seen by a physician assistant
The @lengreview : I had placed faith it it as someone who has raised PA issues around safety for 2 years now as a @RCPhysicians Councillor Did it deliver? In my view… The Leng review offers pragmatism along with lessons for the NHS. Whether it’s willing to learn? Is a…
I want to talk about the themes of leadership explored in the Leng Report. Prof Leng herself is well used to leadership roles, and has extensive training in and knowledge of good leadership in health systems, so these are valuable insights 1/
