"it seemed to us like this was almost like a game of target practice. We're going to shoot the head today. Tomorrow it'll be the chest. The next day it'll be the testicles" @maynard_nick on IDF soldiers shooting Palestinian kids.
It was great to visit Gary Dawson and Angela Turley (and Ralph the dog!) at Middlesbrough's historic AV Dawson Limited. The company is still family-run having been started in 1938 by Gary's grandad Arthur Vernon Dawson selling coal from a horse and cart in Middlesbrough.

This is positive news for Teesside. Not only is fresh investment coming to PD Ports, the leadership within the organisation is being maintained which is crucial for continuity. gazettelive.co.uk/news/teesside-…
The Lionesses do it again! What drama! Brilliant. Well played all - into the Euros final!

In Poplar and Limehouse, we are clear: refugees are welcome here. In the face of relentless demonisation and targeting, we continue to stand with migrants for their rights to safety and dignity. It’s the far-right and their hateful ideology that are not welcome here.

Just this afternoon Chris Cooke - Mayor of Middlesbrough - has given a date for the start of the removal of Linthorpe Road cycle lane. This was a manifesto promise from Chris and he has worked tirelessly to get us here. Work will begin on Tuesday, August 26. Great work Chris.

When are we going to take the appropriate action to bring about a full trade and arms embargo and concentrate the mind of Israel? Because nothing else is working. They're not listening. They're getting away with murder, every single day.
Congratulations to the workforce and @GMB_union on gaining recognition. Union recognition is the cornerstone of well-paid, secure work with good employment rights. Under the Employment Rights Bill Labour is making this easier. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
Congratulations to Norman Moorsom on his well deserved Honorary Freedom of the Borough award given to him by Middlesbrough Council. Norman is a leading historian who has devoted his life to chronicling Middlesbrough’s history and heritage.

I joined Radiotherapy UK to support #catchupwithcancer and discuss waiting times. I also recently met with James Cook University Hospital to better understand our local situation and there is a very sharp focus and determination on pursuing continuous improvement.

Diane has been subjected to racism for decades and has a proud history of combatting it in all its forms. Listen here to her informed contribution on racism in her Radio 4 interview. I hope there can be calm consideration and an early resolution.
This is the clip of my interview.
It was lovely to spend some time in parliament with Eleanor, Selina and Jay - three trainees at Thompsons trade union solicitors where I worked before being elected in 2012. I'm sure that they too will enjoy full and rewarding careers in the service of working people.

Today we’re delivering on our promise to give 16 and 17 year olds the right to vote. Young people already contribute to society by working, paying taxes and serving in the military. It's only right they can have a say on the issues that affect them. #VotesAt16
