Research found that while patients supported the idea of choice in principle, very few actively used it. Patients do what patients do… opt for the nearest hospital because; it's convenient, travel is simpler… and relatives can help myemail.constantcontact.com/Yesterday.html…

Listening to "Yesterday" at buzzsprout.com/1931280/episod… Perhaps making all of our local hospitals well run, efficient and safe is just too much to ask? Beyond DH+ to plan, create and see through.
@RoyLilley cautions against repeating the mistakes of the past - as ever on the mark
A theme that runs through the Plan is choice. It’s not new. Somehow plan writers are always mesmerised by the thought of the NHS as Tesco’s. myemail.constantcontact.com/Yesterday.html…
@RoyLilley summarising the 10 year ( ish) plan so well again today ‘they must look forward with evidence, not nostalgia and build a service that works for today, not regret the failures of yesterday. cc; @wesstreeting take note from these wise words.
Agree - looking forward IS better than reheating past approaches, though evidence mentioned is quite selective & lack of is an NHS staple not to engage. Is good innovation the road to adoption? absolutely not. The littered landscape of failures is clear evidence of that at least
It took 14 years of thinking to end up with such stale ideas !!!
The coterie of Labour luvvies running the NHS today must stop looking backwards for policies, they must look forward with evidence, not nostalgia... ... and build a service that works for today, not reheat the failures of yesterday. myemail.constantcontact.com/Yesterday.html…

It’s deja-vu all over again with NHS politics - good piece by @RoyLilley on reheating New Labour failures. myemail.constantcontact.com/Yesterday.html…
