PA courses may attempt to cram in large volumes of information, but one quickly becomes saturated. There is no room to correct misunderstandings and cover content in any real depth. PA courses lack sufficient depth in core theory that underpins clinical reasoning for diagnosis.
In 2008 a Plumber charged us ยฃ30/hr Now he is charging ยฃ60/hr for same job He has refused to do the job for ยฃ45/hr despite me offering him โ50% pay riseโ He still wants 35% more as he says current market rate is ยฃ60/hr-There has been inflation&cost of living is up Who is greedy ?
This is horrific Systemic failure on so many levels. The Ambulance service should be prosecuted for GNM- they had a duty to attend after information given Was this vulnerable young person with Learning Disability not known to any services? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/โฆ
Another UMAPs own goal ? ๐ฌ
On reddit, Partners are saying wheras they were keen to keep their PAs on and work through a Leng compliant job plan on the same salary, some are now saying since this UMAP announcement, they think it will be less stressful to just initiate formal redundancy proceedings.
Anyone got โlegal adviceโ on How to Practice Medicine without studying Medicine or having a license to practice Medicine UMAPs need your help I am not sure if you need to be legally qualified & appropriately licensed to give this โlegal adviceโ pulsetoday.co.uk/news/workforceโฆ
So LocumPA Ltd has Instagram handle which has posted Nash interview reels On Times radio-He is unraveling making no sense &using criminal justice terminology when itโs about evidence for safe practice๐ฌ He liesโProf Leng has seen PAs r safe & effectiveโ (she has said no evidence)
1/Have a listen to this clip from a @TimesRadio interview w/ @pa_StephenNash, the leader of @UMAPsUK & CMAPs. It is frankly delusional ๐จ โก๏ธI have nothing at all to do w/ Doctorโs Vote. NOTHING! #patientsafety is my 1ยฐ concern & always has been. instagram.com/reel/DML9pdfIbโฆ
Dear UMAPs members Grok has some advise for you ๐
Yes, without a proper ballot, such action is unofficial and unprotected under UK law. Members risk fair dismissal if they participate, and the union could face legal action or fines. See Acas guidelines for more.
โTrade Union leaders on Temuโ @medicalmodelbri you made me laugh so much ๐๐๐
Nash doesnโt accept it and is telling his members to work to rule without holding a ballot . This is what happens when you get trade union leaders on temu . They donโt actually know their stuff . Makes sense seeing as he had to be forced by anons to actually do the paperwork
๐จ FAO Physician Assistants When I spoke to Prof Leng, she told me many doctors felt that PAs could have a really important role assisting doctors in the NHS. I agreed, and added my voice to what I still believe is a strong case for an assistant role, which I believe could beโฆ
This is disturbing I hear there are PAs who are critical of Nash & his @UMAPsUK NEC who have supposedly infiltrated every PA group & silenced any PA voices critical of them๐ฅบ They feel Nash doesnโt represent them, but has been given voice on national stage due to hisโlinksโ 1/n
Donโt know how this will work in practice but on paper looks to be a good thing
๐จ Senior NHS managers are to be regulated by the @The_HCPC with a barring list to prevent those guilty of misconduct from working again in the NHS. @wesstreeting says this "will slam the door in the face of unsuitable managers"
Leng on Times Some interesting reflections around why RDs are angry. Says during visit saw PA working as GP substitute Report mentions about PAs getting paid 10K more than RDs And Streeting comment at end confirming Physician Assistants should assist Drs archive.ph/gZvAS

๐ข I hope anyone who is struggling is able to access support GP, 111 for crisis, practitioners health for NHS Drs specifically practitionerhealth.nhs.uk/healthcare-staโฆ
This is devastating news. I sadly suspect this will become more commonplace too. Fix this @wesstreeting. From this year. This cycle.
I would like to extend my moral support to all the Physician Assistants at @LG_NHS as they now work in supportive roles, no longer seeing undifferentiated patients, not work as Dr substitutes, have a named Consultant or SAS Dr who supervises ALL their โday to dayโ work

Has @drcolinm been following GMP? Has he put pts 1st? Has he been open when things went wrong &pts died when PAs worked as Dr subs? Was he protecting & promoting health of pts &public when he didnโt listen to repeated concerns raised to him regarding flaws in GMCโs reg of PAs?
The reason for name change is NOT to confuse patients into thinking they r Doctors Calling them โPhysician Associate/Assistantโ is confusing Title isโPhysician Assistantsโnow Did PAs do ur e-consults?๐ฌ If they were supervised โappropriatelyโpreviously y r u reducing Appts now?๐คช

While at medical school, and still have so much more to learn. The learning curve has been steep and humbling. Spending the extra years meeting patients and learning from experts has been crucial to this, and simply cannot be achieved in 2 years.
