Little Ninja UK
@LittleNinjaUK
Children are exposed to five times more #airpollution during the #schoolrun. Highest level on main roads & near #idling vehicles = stunted lung & brain growth😱
Eli & I are proud to help @UNICEF_uk raise awareness that #ToxicAir is damaging the health of children across the UK. Our goal @LittleNinjaUK is to reduce #airpollution exposure for the children most at risk as they travel and attend nursery/school on main roads. #NO2idling
🎶Let it flow🎶 is trending in July! 🌞 Clearly manufactured congestion is not just for Christmas! #RethinkLTNs
🎶Let it flow 🎶 Oh, the traffic outside is frightful Inside the LTNs it's delightful The traffics more stop than go Let it flow, let it flow, let it flow Councils show no sign of stopping The lies they tell are whopping Congesting traffic kills they know Let it flow, let it…
If LTNs are about climate change & air pollution they wouldn't worsen traffic congestion which increases CO2 & NO2 vehicle emissions harmful to planet & public health.
If LTNs are about health they should implemented for the busiest roads where asthma rates are highest. Wealthy side street residents would complain about their added traffic but it’s mainly self-generated. Living with the consequence might force behaviour change. @SocEnvJustice
Something has gone wrong in @peterwalker99's Champion Hill LTN, where obesity went up post-implementation. To counter-balance that, in the same LTN KSIs fell by 50%! 🍾🍻 A cyclist fell off their bike there in 2017, which had brought the total to 2, vs a post- casualty in 2022.
This is precisely what happened right across the country where LTNs were introduced.
Residents who dared question unjust impacts of LTN’s & fishy methodology were labelled far right or trouble makers in order to be dismissed, silenced & ignored while members of cycling/ eco groups openly insulted others & still got included in decision making mtgs 😬#EcoCronyism
It’s astonishing that he unconsciously articulated the main argument against LTNs, which is that we do not have Le Corbusier style freeways in London. Our main roads are not just residential, but community & trade, therefore less appropriate to through traffic than side roads.
Your regular reminder that Cllr Leeming knowingly and intentionally has made Croxted a toxic car park during Dulwich LTN hours. Admitting he rerouted traffic from DV (never a 'quiet residential road') to Croxted *on purpose*.
Floating Bus Stops are designed so cyclists do not have to wait behind buses when they stop at bus stops. The simplest solution is to widen bus lanes so cyclist can pass buses in safety.💚 Instead, TfL are inviting fast/heavy e-bikes onto our pavements.😨 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
Just another day for the victims of LTNs and road closures carried out without mitigation. You know who matters to @HackneyLabour when Richmond Rd is not reopened to traffic and poor people on Dalston Lane are left to breathe in this level of pollution in this heat.
Just imagine how wonderful London could be if we had a commissioner for walking. Sadly, like bus travel, walking is for the poor so a long way below cycling on TfL's list of priorities.
Everyone should watch this! It's a delightful & joyous celebration of how we're transforming London into a cycling city. Brilliant to see ... but there's much more hard work to do. #LondonLovesCycling 🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲 youtube.com/watch?v=OunBRd…
Air pollution is a major trigger for asthma. Our children’s greatest exposure is when travelling to/from school along main roads & Red Routes. LTN schemes that increase congestion & emissions on our busy community roads clearly harm those already most at risk. #AskAboutAsthma
Air pollution is a major trigger for asthma. In London, we’re working hard to improve our air quality to protect the health of children and young people living with asthma. I’m supporting #AskAboutAsthma and raising awareness of how we can enable young Londoners to thrive.
How can you, as a Parliamentary group, lead with a misleading headline which implies a 1/3 reduction in casualties within the vicinity (& outerlying areas) of an LTN, rather than only inside it? It implies a fall incorporating boundary areas too (where most collisions occur). 1/
Tomorrow the self-styled Healthy Streets Scorecard will announce its annual award for the London borough which it argues has the healthiest streets. But don’t be conned. They do no research into transport & health. It is merely a tick-box exercise into areas chosen by them.
Carte blanche closures along A23 #Streatham. @tfl "in consultation with @lambeth_council" but not, with actual residents, businesses or users. The disregard for local input, the disempowerment🤐 - is quite shocking. Very reminiscent of Lambeth's high-handed forced #LTN approach.
Southwark stopped monitoring the roads around the Dulwich LTN when it realised it couldn't prove evaporation exists. The last data dump showed a 25% *increase* in vehicles on East Dulwich Grove compared to pre-LTNs. EDG has 3 senior schools and 2 nurseries.
Cycling LTN advocates continue to support harming communities outside LTNs …. 67.3 increase in pollution right here… I cycle in more pollution I live in more congestion The cycle lobby continues its class war on communities pushing a mainly male middle class hobby forward…
Hackney isn’t inundated with cars. Car miles driven have been coming down for decades. LTN road closures have caused motorised traffic to be funnelled to a just a few, highly residential, roads causing unprecedented congestion (and pollution). Pipe dreams are no solution.
Pedestrians & bus users (mainly low income people, women, children, elderly & disabled people) are now placed behind cyclists (mainly affluent, non-disabled, 25-55yo men), in London's transport hierarchy. Fast/heavy e-bikes where people walk & get on/off a bus is menacing/unjust.
Lewisham’s HTN! How are these roads safer and less polluted? @MayorofLondon? Asthma rate in LBL are 2nd highest in LDN, Lewisham congestion made worse since the LTN 2020 @LewishamCouncil @LouiseKrupski @vickyfoxcroft @Heidi_Labour @Brenda_Dacres @Keir_Starmer @LukeVWarner
An independent review has been unable to trace any record off the disability group that Bristol City Council said they consulted. The suspicion is the Barton Hill Disabilities Group was “fabricated by the council to give an appearance of consultation”. bristol247.com/news-and-featu…
