@LewishamCouncil you need to suspend the cycle lane while this scaffold is obstructing the pavement. The current situation is a health and safety hazard. Buggies, mobility scooters can’t navigate this and pedestrians are forced to step into the bike lane @SocEnvJustice
.@MayorofLondon @SebDance @willnorman @Heidi_Labour @LordPeterHendy @simonlightwood @SteveReedMP @clairekholland Why are 2-way floating bus stops being installed in Streatham Hill Scheme? These will not work for blind people. Why are their access needs being ignored? @AndrewBoff
We need an immediate halt on any more floating bus stops @Keir_Starmer. Blind people are being excluded from catching the bus due to these designs which are still being put in. @NFBUK have no faith in @transportgovuk to tackle this @Heidi_Labour @simonlightwood @LordPeterHendy.
Gridlock created by the cycle lane kettling the motor vehicles into single lanes pollutes pedestrians, bus users, main road residents, even those cyclists who won’t be so smug if they develop lung cancer 20 years down the line. To reduce gridlock create shared bus/bike lanes.
I was saddened to see the motorcyclist did not make it after a collision with an Urban Forest rider who shot red out of a side street onto Camberwell New Road. RIP. I hope local politicians will learn from this that the hire bike pricing model incentivises dangerous cycling.
After LTNs have pushed more heavy trucks on to Clair's road? No, remove the LTNs first. Why should Clair suffer whilst a new haulage policy is being developed?
More plans to increase segregation in what is already one of the most traffic segregated boroughs in London. Hackney has published plans for its Dalston LTN. Will ease traffic on some roads at the expense of others. consultation.hackney.gov.uk/streetscene/da…
Absolutely and well said @RuthCadbury MP: “We need a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination and inadequacies in our transport services.” Blind people certainly want @Heidi_Labour, SoS Transport to stop the roll out of floating bus stops that clearly discriminate against them.
Today marked the final day of school before the summer holidays begin. It's disheartening to see that the needs of children who rely on SEND transport are overlooked, forced onto time-inefficient, circuitous routes due to the widespread implementation of LTNs- a policy that you…
The public sector equality duty, equality act, Nolan principles been ignored in LTN / AT scheme’s. Low waged keyworkers , trades, home carers & disabled BBH most impacted. I think that very much does matter. It’s not democratic to only listen to those who agree! or benefit 🤷♀️
The consultations were full of confirmation bias, they weren’t accessible for disabled/disadvantaged voices from outset, even when majority responses were against schenes go ahead Many LTN’s increase priviliege in wealthy areas while impacting on less privileged residents
Our opposition to LTNs is well-known. Over the next few days we will tackle some other issues. We back investment in buses across the UK. In London the average speed has fallen to 9mph. Bad for passengers, esp those on low-incomes, bad for the bus industry and bad for the economy
The HGVs that have been coming down Dalston Ln over the past couple of yrs & especially now are bigger than the flats most of us live in.👇a sample in past 2 days. Can this be appropriate for a residential rd w/a nursery an primary school on it? @Meg_HillierMP @SarahWoodberryD

This is councillors living in LTN roads way of Saying F*ck you jack im alright.
If LTNs are about health they should implemented for the busiest roads where asthma rates are highest. Wealthy side street residents would complain about their added traffic but it’s mainly self-generated. Living with the consequence might force behaviour change. @SocEnvJustice
In a parallel universe @TfL and @LewishamCouncil deliver a useful active travel project - TFL subsidized Santander bikes for Lewisham. In reality LBL will squander their active travel funding on 3 hangers for the LTN costing £££ while TFL continue to ignore its SE quadrant.
It would be wonderful to extend the Santander Cycles. We hope they will cover all inner London boroughs in full (including West Dulwich) 💚 We also want to see adapted hire bikes, able to carry children, cargo & accessible by those facing mobility challenges 💚 @willnorman
Is this is what good city planning looks like? @guynicholson_ @mayorofhackney @MayorofLondon @SarahWoodberryD @ZoeGarbett @carolewilliams @VincentStops @hackneycitizen @hackneycouncil @OnLondon @standardnews @madeinbolivia @cristo_radio

Here’s the Government’s response to blind MP, @MarshadeCordova seeking assurance that floating bus stops will be safe for all bus passengers. Not a difficult question, but @Heidi_Labour tells MPs she wants to deal with this vital issue “in the round”!
Exactly who (or what) is preventing @lambeth_council opening up local LTNs whilst Kings Avenue repairs are taking place over the next 10 days? @SteveReedMP @BellRibeiroAddy @AcreLaneLabour @clairekholland @RezinaChowdhury @PrivateEyeNews
Update: Burst Water Main on Kings Avenue 🚨 💧 Thames Water, Fire, Police & Council teams worked overnight — water flow now much reduced. 🚧 Parts of Acre Lane, Bedford Rd & Clapham Park Rd remain closed while structural safety is assessed. Buses diverted. ⬇️
This is precisely what happened right across the country where LTNs were introduced.
Residents who dared question unjust impacts of LTN’s & fishy methodology were labelled far right or trouble makers in order to be dismissed, silenced & ignored while members of cycling/ eco groups openly insulted others & still got included in decision making mtgs 😬#EcoCronyism
Suspension of local LTNs would of course be the sensible thing to do but @lambeth_council @clairekholland @RezinaChowdhury are likely not to allow it. @andrewellson @SocEnvJustice
Emergency repairs continue to fix the burst water main which caused a sinkhole on Kings Avenue. Water supplies should now be restored. But closures along Kings Avenue, Clapham High Street, Park Hill and Acre Lane mean traffic is still disrupted and buses are on diversion.
