Very excited to share our work on HIV, out this week in @Nature. We sort and RNA-seq infected cells solely based on the detection of provirus DNA. Infected CD4 T cells have unique signatures that help to explain HIV persistence in vivo. nature.com/articles/s4158…
Hoping to majorly scale up some single-cell experiments using this tech!
New(ish) preprint from the lab: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… ! Led by the talented Cyrille Delley, we applied single-cell DNA+Ab-seq (DAb-seq) to study HIV persistence in CD4 T cells. All devices and reagents are open-source!
after sharing the news with family and friends, i am thrilled to announce that i have been promoted to Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Quantitative and Computational Biology @USC !! @USCViterbi @uscbme @qcb_usc
For next week's #PennBioengineering seminar, @timothy_lamont will speak on "Synthetic Genome Regulation for Cell and Tissue Engineering”. Bio & abstract: bit.ly/40w4Oku
Congrats Jason!!!
I’m so honored and grateful to be named a MacArthur Fellow! I’ve been absolutely flooded with texts, emails and likes. What a wonderful experience to hear from colleagues, collaborators, friends, and family. Thank you all for the support and encouragement!
Thrilled and humbled to be part of this amazing group!

SPEAC-ing of fantastic collaborative efforts from @mwheeler0, @icclarker & @hong_lee89, our SPEAC-seq paper is out in @ScienceMagazine today! In short: Microfluidic screening 🤝Discovery of functional cell-cell interactions Microglia🤝Astrocytes
We got too caught up thinking about SPEAC puns – here is the link to the paper: science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
We've been working on Seurat v5 for two years and are excited to share it with you soon! In a webinar w/@10xGenomics and @ScienceMagazine on 3/29, I'll introduce new methods to analyze spatial/multimodal datasets that scale to tens of millions of cells: view6.workcast.net/register?cpak=…
The next generation of single-cell sequencing methods can be microfluidics-free (but I still love microfluidics). nature.com/articles/s4158…
