I don’t give up #FBPE #FBNHS🌻 Lots of typos particularly when angry about the way women are treated in the NHS. Views are my own
Medical regulator faces questions over board members’ links to drug firms theguardian.com/society/2022/a… Also have a look @ #hysteroscopy equipment manufacturers influence on some gynaecologists. @GdnHealthcare #GenderPainGap
youtu.be/yM9hKehMrfk In this podcast this eminent anaesthetist explains that sedation is not just 3 groups but a continuous line with many variations which a trained anaesthetist can continually adjust to control pain.So why is OPH done on Paracetamol ?

I don’t believe any hospital would invest in this set up if they didn’t intend to encourage/ advise /coerce sufficient numbers of women into taking this no anaesthetic pathway. Looks like cost cutting to me.

Have you looked at the VISTA trial where 75% of the women who got the standard treatment had pain 7>10 on VAS . This was seen as a great success. 40% of the women with VR intervention still had pain 7>10. So yes 2% is hard to believe.
If Drs aren’t paid as much as PAs when they work irregular shifts and have a medical degree with large student debt they will leave are NHS eg go to Canada New Zealand Australia . Then the NHS will be in an evan bigger mess.
Reminder UK had at most a quarter of its current immigration levels when in the EU, and that Brexit added to this by doing away with previous returns agreements But UK media and politicians on both sides don't point this out for fear of offending those who stupidly voted for it
HR let Dr Upton edit the notes of his interview - notes that were produced from the recording of the interview (the recording is destroyed)😱😱😱 They had a Teams meeting to edit the original notes of his interview (no minutes were taken) #SandiePeggie
The graph is CPI as were the Apples but still not negotiating RPI is used for student loans so maybe that’s something for Wes to consider if he likes CPI so much
Resident Drs 4d strike previously affected 200,000 appts Hospitals cancel 250,000 in the ave week Patients fail to attend 150,000 Doctors aren’t the problem but by standing up for fairness they are being scapegoated & the population gaslighted Let’s not let facts in the way
The Campaign Against Painful Hysteroscopy has 9,000 detailed stories of brutal NHS hysteroscopies. The 1st 8K stories with doctors’ names redacted is on the home page of www.hysteroscopy action.org.uk
Who took hysteroscopy out of theatre in the first place and decided women could bear the pain inflicted.
There are women who have had this and won’t return because of pain They could develop a cancer. Just one developed cancer will cost +++ We provide GA colonoscopy for pts (men and women) - this isn’t as great a step for women’s pain
@NHSEngland also say that 10% of our current inpatient procedures should be done as outpatients. The same procedures that @DrGailBusby is advocating for. Really surprised as commissioner, without analysis, you’re saying we can’t afford for procedures to be performed humanely.
I look forward to the day when all gynaecologists will agree with you.
But Ash, we can’t continue to provide “care” that’s barbaric to some because “we’ve always done it like that” This isn’t a novel/new/ interesting way of doing something that will make Gail famous. This is providing the very basic right of pain relief
I'm not trying to pressurise anyone. I'm sure that @NHSGIRFT is interested in this, as they champion great care. I'm offering to share my experience and work with others. My goal is a worthy one and I have no doubt that this will be achieved.
Hi Gail, as a clinical public health consultant, I'm all in favour of your proposals, but as a clinical commissioner, I strongly disapprove of the way you are trying to pressurise NHSGIRFT. Your @NHS_GM is currently running a deficit of £190 million and has now been put in…
I’m glad to hear you’re ok & hope that an apology will be forthcoming🤞🏼 It amazes me that some medics still believe sedation & adequate analgesia for women having these procedures should be ‘optional extras’. Keep doing what you’re doing, hopefully more will follow. Thank you 🙏🏼x
Good to hear if men get intolerable pain the biopsy is stopped and GA rescheduled. Do men get choice up front and history taken. Unfortunately neither of these happened to me for #hysteroscopy in outpatients.
The Campaign Against Painful Hysteroscopy knows there's always hope. Thanks to @DrGailBusby & other reformers the experimental surgical technique of outpatient hysteroscopy without the option of safely monitored IV sedation+anaesthesia is ending. @NHSGIRFT @NHSEngland
I had one, it was horrendous. Afterwards I was lauded for my high pain threshold…!!
