This is a plea to @DHSCgovuk @wesstreeting to fund core General Practice The average GP practice has lost the equivalent of 2 GPs, a nurse & admin in funding over the last 8 years (20% cuts) It’s good there are negotiations but patients want & need to see GPs Funding needed!

We should talk about the the inevitable q of how this mess happened. Prof Leng stated her review wouldn’t dwell on it. This is within her gift - the review is hard enough to land despite sticking to its precise question. But the question of how this happened cannot be ignored 1/

Resident doctors aren’t asking to be rich. We’re asking for: – Safe rotas – Job security – Basic respect – And pay that keeps up with inflation If you think that’s greedy, ask yourself who benefits from you believing that.

When deciding funding where do you think Govt & NHS England put their £? Cost of appts: Out-patients £109-£362 A&E £114-£563 Urgent treatment centre £84-£114 Hub appts £48 Pharmacy First £48 ARRS £35 GP practice £23 Despite this GP practices have had 20% cut & no new funding
🍎Apples 🍎 Resident Drs had 100 apples, over time cut to 73 ~ 27% fewer Rightly upset Drs managed to persuade Govt to give them some back But 28.9% minus inflation 13.7% = 15.2% But this on 73 Apples = 11 Now 84 Apples still 16 fewer* *Example CPI ~ much worse if RPI used
GP to manage post op issues without any additional resources.
