🚨📰 We have a new Leader! Following a meeting this evening @UnaOHalloran has been elected as the new Leader, and she will be confirmed as Leader of the Council by a Full Council meeting in December 🌹 #OnYourSide

Earlier this month, I co-signed a letter to @Steph_Peacock urging stronger action on unlicensed charity collections. Yesterday I joined community safety officers at Finsbury Park to raise awareness. We must protect the public & ensure charitable giving is safe & transparent.

The Mother Red Cap pub has been a valued community asset in Junction Ward for many decades. Its sudden closure last March was worrying but the recent boarding up of the pub has only made those worries worse and residents fear its permanent loss to our area. (1/2)

Knife crime destroys lives, harms communities & spreads fear Today I joined police in Finsbury Park for a weapons sweep around Andover. A clear show of partnership focused on prevention, knife recovery & safer streets. Council & police are committed to driving down violence.

As the finance lead I know that lots of Islington residents (which includes me & all @IslingtonLabour councillors) who want to ensure that the council's suppliers, including our banking provider, met high ethical standards for human rights & for environmental sustainability

Weekend Reflections! What a joyful weekend in Islington! I had the pleasure of attending the Whitecross Street Party, a fantastic celebration of art, culture, and community spirit. The atmosphere was electric, in true Islington style.

Private renting leaves too many in shocking conditions, paying thousands to landlords each month. Labour is thankfully strengthening renters’ rights and fixing the broken system. Proud to speak in favour of our @IslingtonLabour motion at #IslingtonFC last week:
