A grassroots-led campaign working towards full pay restoration and profession restoration.
"The strategic trick is to stop treating this as a cost and start treating it as an investment". The Government needs to stop wasting everyone's time and sit down to talks without preconditions.
If we haven’t learned by now these doctors are impervious to public opinion and insults then we’ve learned nothing. They are well aware of the risks they are taking and the impact they will have. myemail.constantcontact.com/Job-Done.html?…
At today's RDC meeting, we’ve voted to go ahead with strike action. Last week when we met @wesstreeting we were open to finding solutions to restore pay and improve working conditions. Today, we still do not have a credible offer on the table @Melissa_S_Ryan @RossNieuwoudt
It seems that either @UHSFT don’t know the law or are trying to trick doctors out of their right to strike. Any resident doctor in England with BMA membership or no union membership can strike. You do not need to “register” with the BMA. Strike hard.

Unless you're a doctor, in which case it's 23% down. That's why we're striking. We don't want a pay rise, we want pay restoration.
The average pay packet in the UK today, once adjusted for inflation, is the same size as it was in 2008. —Office for National Statistics
The Leng Review is pain. • No recognition of the PA safety reports already submitted • No national scope of practice to contain their role • Push for full prescribing rights • Push for ionising radiation rights • Green light for PAs to substitute doctors rather than support…
I'm a cynic: I fully believe that the Leng Review is primarily a vehicle for getting prescribing & ionising radiation requesting rights for 'advanced' PAs, & the rest of the review is window-dressing (much of which govt/NHS won't adopt) to distract doctors & patients.
Like with most things, on the Labour are way out of touch with their voter base. Labour supporters back the resident doctors strike. RT if you support our doctors! Post a ✊ in solidarity
£25 an hour for my new cleaner who started yesterday Doctors on £17 are striking to get £23 The fact that Wes Streeting and Labour are pushing the 'doctors are greedy' narrative while my cleaner charges £2 more, is absolutely shameful
The Leng Review has shown itself to be a sham. Doctors concerns have been ignored. This report is nothing less than an unmitigated disaster and demonstrates the contempt Gov has for the public. There's plenty of money for our assistants but not for us. #AskForADoctor
Government gave money to GP practices to hire staff on the one condition they didn’t use it to hire doctors or nurses. £84 million was unspent, so government took it back. Meanwhile thousands of GPs are facing unemployment. THATS WHY you can’t get an appointment.
Almost £84m in unclaimed additional roles reimbursement scheme (ARRS) cash - enough to hire hundreds more GPs - was retained by NHS England in 2024/25 and lost to general practice Patients need GP appts & this could have been used to provide 5m GP appts gponline.com/84m-arrs-cash-…
1 in 5 Resident Doctors are now at high risk of burnout, double the rate in 2019. 61% face moderate or high risk. Many don’t feel safe raising concerns. And the government says the problem is… the strike? Doctors are walking out because staying silent has broken them.

I’ve been a student and worked in the NHS for 40 years, I don’t need a career politician telling me ‘ministers are in a fight to save the NHS’, it’s the staff who are up to their necks in that fight and currently subsidising it with their pay.

If any MP wants to shadow me on a full set of on-calls, I’ll happily arrange for it. Come see what we do as resident doctors.
Looks like I made it into a hit piece from @Telegraph criticising pizza &pay events. Cuz you know, how dare a union rep engage w members and... feed them delicacies like @Dominos_UK's Mighty Meateor?! P&P events aren't proof we're gonna strike again, our pay erosion is. 🦀🍕🦀
I am fully behind #BMA #Residents and their decision for strike action. They are a special case for historical reasons. There has been long term abuse of the working conditions of “junior doctors” for too long. A plan for proper recognition and pay restoration is essential
I do zero private work. There is not private emergency department. Pls tell me where this exists. Pls tell me when I will earn 100k. Is it less than or more than 5 years away? I’m 13 years down already…
Sacking doctors sure sounds good for waiting lists. I'm sure it'll be popular with the public too.
“The power to stop these strikes lies squarely with the Government and the Secretary of State” - Wes Streeting, when it wasn't him as health secretary.
Sorry @wesstreeting you were saying something about turnouts and support. #DoctorsStrike
🚨 Projected result in Wes Streeting's seat: ⚪️ IND – 32% (-) 🔴 LAB – 22% (-11) 🔵 CON – 19% (-2) ➡️ REF – 15% (+8) 🟢 GRN – 7% (+3) 🟠 LD – 4% (+2) Independent GAIN from Labour (6% swing)
BMA members from the relevant branch of practice were, quite literally, consulted. That is what a ballot is. I would have hoped after 60 years that he had a better understanding of branches of practice and how trade unions work. Shame
