I'm in @CityAM today writing about Nigel Farage's dodgy maths. I set out why scrapping net zero would not save £45 billion a year to spend on increased welfare. It is fiscally irresponsible and will end up costing taxpayers more in the long run. cityam.com/reforms-plans-…
<<< Breaking: My latest for Bloomberg >>> Why rumours of the death of the transition are exaggerated, and why it's time for a #PragmaticClimateReset. Part I of a two-parter - my attempt to reframe the conversation about climate action and net zero. about.bnef.com/insights/clean…
Big infrastructure projects like @TidewayLondon do not come cheap. The @Conservatives made novel financing for Tideway possible. Other projects should be able to do this too. That's why the gov should take on @theresecoffey's amendment to the Planning & Infrastructure Bill 👇
To clean up Britain's rivers, we need political bravery.
It is great to see @VictoriaAtkins highlight the government's failings on sustainable agriculture in this piece for @ConHome Labour's abrupt closure of the sustainable farming incentive scheme was deeply damaging for farm businesses, food security, and the environment
From @VictoriaAtkins: Rural and coastal communities cannot withstand the battering Labour is giving them conservativehome.com/2025/07/24/vic…
Time from Kennedy speech to Moon landing - 8 years and 2 months. Time for DFT to legislate whether e-scooters are legal...
On our Exmoor farm, we’re planting herbal leys, good for pollinators, birds, and our livestock. Labour cut the funding for this with no notice or replacement. Bad for farmers and food security but worse for nature.
CEN RESPONDS TO THE CUNLIFFE REPORT Cleaning up our rivers requires us to move beyond punishing water companies. We need real action that tackles water pollution from source to sea.
The Conservatives' route back to power involves winning back at least some of these Lib Dem-held constituencies A strong environmental platform, which is rooted in conservative values, will be an electoral asset for the party and help neutralise this Lib Dem green wedge plan
The Liberal Democrats — the third-biggest party in the UK parliament — reckon they have found a winning political formula as they seek to hoover up Tory voters. It involves talking about the climate. A lot. politico.eu/article/uk-lib…
I prefer this proposal. A new PD for cable channels so people without driveways can still charge their cars.
Poor old Joseph is gonna get a shock when he finds out what's causing the flooding.
💥 £2 MILLION moved from Net Stupid Zero! ✅ Redirected to tackle flooding across Leicestershire 🌊 Today, Reform UK took real action, no more waste, no more waffle. Just common sense priorities.
Last night, the CPF hosted an informative roundtable policy discussion with Sam Hall, Director of the CEN, as part of the Policy Renewal Programme. CPF members with expertise in the agricultural sector offered insightful analysis on a range of environmental issues.
When it comes to climate aid, we need to stop trying to help everybody, everywhere. For @prospect_uk, I wrote about what's wrong with climate finance and why it needs to be more strategic and spent much better.
Whatever your views about renewables, this is a reckless intervention by Reform Government reneging on legally-binding contracts with private firms would damage investment in UK infrastructure more widely, pushing up investor risk, financing costs and everyone’s bills

Reform want to totally wipe out the Scottish renewables industry. There's a huge difference between concern at the pace of net zero rollout, and the level of climate denial that would put us back on coal. Reform are not good for Scotland.
RENEWABLE NOTICE I have written today to bosses of: Octopus Centrica RWE SSE Renewable Orsted Scottish Power Equinor Vattenfall Notifying them of the political risks of any bids for this years AR7 Net Stupid Zero is ruining our countryside & economy Reform intend to stop it
This isn’t a good use of taxpayers’ money when EV sales are already growing and costs falling It won’t help low-income drivers who buy cars in the second hand market EVs bring many benefits but it’d be much better to focus these resources on improving charging infrastructure
