I don't know who needs to hear this, but 🗣️📢YOU CAN JUST PARENT YOUR CHILDREN AND NOT GIVE THEM EVERYTHING THEY WANT WHENEVER THEY ASK. Follow me for more parenting and/or Not Being A Statist Nightmare tips.
Another one to add to the British public love a ban list, by a 3-1 margin people back banning the sale of slushies to children. Parents of young children are the most supportive.
The best definition of a YIMBY is someone who doesn't continue the sentence "I support building homes..." with a "but".
I support building homes on the Aylesham site- but they must include the right amount of social and affordable housing. With 18,000 on Southwark’s housing waiting list and thousands of kids in temporary accommodation, Berkeley’s 12% offer simply isn’t good enough.
Big infrastructure projects like @TidewayLondon do not come cheap. The @Conservatives made novel financing for Tideway possible. Other projects should be able to do this too. That's why the gov should take on @theresecoffey's amendment to the Planning & Infrastructure Bill 👇
On our Exmoor farm, we’re planting herbal leys, good for pollinators, birds, and our livestock. Labour cut the funding for this with no notice or replacement. Bad for farmers and food security but worse for nature.
CEN RESPONDS TO THE CUNLIFFE REPORT Cleaning up our rivers requires us to move beyond punishing water companies. We need real action that tackles water pollution from source to sea.
This is great from @NeilClark66 in @spectator on changing his mind on climate change, after the irresistible evidence of this summer. The right can't ignore the threat of climate change. We need to respond with pragmatic conservative policies to reduce this risk.
🌍 Labour are failing to protect our oceans From Chagos to failure to sign the High Seas Treaty, we cannot let them sell out our environment. CEN MP @AndrewRosindell writes for @ConHome 👇 conservativehome.com/2025/07/11/and…
Let there be air con. Energy policy should fit what Brits need, not the other way around. Sign up to Britain Remade’s campaign to make Britain cool again. 🇬🇧
"This is my two-year old's bedroom and it's 30 degrees." Britain's got hotter, but only 5% of British households have AC. It's time to scrap Britain's anti-AC rules and Cool Britannia!
🤦♀️This is a ridiculous state of affairs. The government should accept amendments to the Planning & Infrastructure Bill, first put forward by @SWDevonRebecca & now by @theresecoffey, to give ponds permitted development rights. Cut red tape, restore nature. 🐸
“Oi, have you got a licence for that pond?” The Environment Agency have now taken time out of their busy schedule of ignoring environmental crime to pay me a visit & threaten me with prosecution for creating a pond without a permit. It would almost be funny if it wasn’t so…
It’s a start. One sweet day, the BBC will be entirely funded by people who choose to consume its content.

Texas is just so woke
Electricity prices are soaring around the country due to the current heat wave—everywhere but Texas. And this map explains why. 🧵
Socialism is like polio, it comes back when people forget about the horrible damage it did last time.
🌿 Did you know only 11 of England’s 220 chalk streams have legal protections? For @ConHome, CEN MP @danny__kruger explains why this has to change 👇 conservativehome.com/2025/06/23/dan…
Can't believe it's 9 years since the Brexit vote. Still, I think, the right decision, but so much more we can do to make the best of it. A shameless plug for my @CapX piece from earlier in the year on why Brexit is good for the environment. 🇬🇧🌳🐟🌍 capx.co/brexit-will-sa…
A wonderful moment. Belarus is a beautiful and fascinating country that has been devastated by Lukashenko. @Tsihanouskaya is a hero.
My husband Siarhei is free! It’s hard to describe the joy in my heart. Thank you, 🇺🇸 @POTUS, @SPE_Kellogg, @JohnPCoale, DAS Christopher W. Smith, @StateDept & our 🇪🇺 allies, for all your efforts. We’re not done. 1150 political prisoners remain behind bars. All must be released.
Labour: Gave away Chagos - no mandate Gibraltar deal - no mandate Abortion - no mandate Assisted dying - no mandate Stealth re-entry to EU - no mandate Handling of rape gangs inquiry - no mandate Huge and controversial decisions with no electoral mandate
We will fight this bill at every stage in the House of Lords. We halved its majority in the House of Commons at third reading, and one day we will extinguish the idea that there are some lives that are not worth living.
At second reading, MPs were told their concerns could be sorted at committee stage. At committee, they were told that problems could be fixed at report stage. And now, they are being told that the Lords can fix the bill. The bill is unfit for purpose. Vote it down.
I’m hearing MPs are being reassured that their issues / concerns with the assisted dying Bill - such as @RCPhysicians @rcpsych saying it’s not safe - can be ‘sorted out in the Lords’. MPs - if you do not believe that the Bill as it stands on Friday is safe, don’t vote for it.
