I nearly spat out my smashed avocado on toast! The older male doctors who keep popping up in the news did alright out of the NHS, didn’t they! No wonder they didn’t go on strike (apart from that time when they went on strike for 40% in 1975)! #BMA1948
Well said. This is rough & ready but useful I think!
🍎Apples 🍎 Resident Drs had 100 apples, over time cut to 73 ~ 27% fewer Rightly upset Drs managed to persuade Govt to give them some back But 28.9% minus inflation 13.7% = 15.2% But this on 73 Apples = 11 Now 84 Apples still 16 fewer* *Example CPI ~ much worse if RPI used
I supported resident doctors in their fight for pay restoration. I support all workers willing to make a stand for better pay + conditions. A win for one sector makes a win elsewhere more likely. Join a union and get organised. United we stand. Divided we fall. Solidarity ✊
Grateful to @TheBMA Council for electing me to the Professional Regulation Committee. Important work ahead this year as we navigate major reforms to the Medical Act and the wider regulatory landscape.
I’m standing for the BMA Professional Regulation Committee at #BMA ARM. With the DAUK, I worked with the BMA and individuals to defend doctors and drive systemic change – from issues like MAPs and MPTS reform to fairness in hearings. If you want a proven advocate for doctors…
Terrorist 30mg TDS.
BMA = Communist party. Should be prescribed as terrorist.
✊Solidarity with striking @BMAResidents doctors! Resident doctors are overworked and underpaid. The government has a responsibility to restore their pay after decades of austerity. Firefighters stand with NHS resident doctors.

At today's RDC meeting, we’ve voted to go ahead with strike action. Last week when we met @wesstreeting we were open to finding solutions to restore pay and improve working conditions. Today, we still do not have a credible offer on the table @Melissa_S_Ryan @RossNieuwoudt
It’s the health secretaries job to improve the health service. This reads like a petulant child threatening to hamstring the future services because they weren’t willing to talk.
Health and Social Care Secretary @WesStreeting responds to the BMA confirming Resident Doctor strikes will go ahead on Friday 👇
Day 7 of asking @wesstreeting for my money back or funding to study medicine @rcgp the “leaders” in primary care confirmed support for the PA role over a 6 year period - PAs now face redundancy for trusting these “leaders”
Day 1 after @lengreview NHS Employers website still says PAs can see patients with undifferentiated diagnosis @wesstreeting I want my money back or financial support to study medicine “Join the NHS, you will have a job for life” “Further training gives you prospects” Lies
I’m renovating my new (old) house Electrician £35 ph Plumber £31.25 ph Plasterer £28 ph Painters £28 ph Non can save my life. @wesstreeting pay FY1 doctors a fair wage. A min of £25 ph should be the absolute basic salary. Personally I’d recommend at least £30ph #SavingLives
Doctor 36yrs & I understand why Residents have resorted to strikes 20% less pay than Drs in 2008, £100k student debt, poor working conditions/job security, higher pension contributions, longer working life as pension at 67yrs I had it good & Karol you had it a lot better
The "they" I was referring to are the hospital leaders who are double booking consultants, not the doctors themselves. Consultants have done an incredible job supporting residents doctors in the past years and we look forward to their continued support. Hospital Trusts must…
Shameful of the @DHSCgovuk to try and put doctors against other NHS workers in their statement. We stand united. We know who is to blame. Want to help NHS workers Wes? Then restore their pay. Solidarity with my medical colleagues ✊
Health and Social Care Secretary @WesStreeting responds to the BMA confirming Resident Doctor strikes will go ahead on Friday 👇
Doctors become apathetic and radicalised against the NHS before they even start working. Is it any surprise we no longer want to die on its alter? Given the contempt and disdain it treats us? They were right, weren’t they? #BMA1948
“A complete disdain for patients and the wider recovery of the NHS.” - UK Secretary of State for Health, on doctors asking to be paid as much as their assistants. 22/7/2025 Face it. They were right, weren’t they. #BMA1948 ALL OUT 💪🏻

Disgusting for @wesstreeting to state that doctors show disdain for patients when his Government alone has the power to resource the NHS appropriately but chooses not to It’s his ‘reform’ read dismantling of the NHS that shows complete disdain for NHS patients and democracy
Health and Social Care Secretary @WesStreeting responds to the BMA confirming Resident Doctor strikes will go ahead on Friday 👇
“Doctors have disdain for patients” should be all the BMA needs to call an immediate OOH strike and work to rule There’s no road to recovery in this relationship, and there’s no road to Number 10 for someone who publicly hates doctors
YEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! COME on England!!!!! 🏴 🏴 🏴 🏴 🏴 🏴 🏴 🏴 🏴 🏴 🏴
Senior doctors who are complaining about the doctors strikes are inherently admitting that they think they have been paid too much throughout their whole careers Perhaps their pensions and savings should be raided to fund the current generation of Drs?
In the run up to the Resident Doctors strike I would like to remind every member of the wider MDT that taking on extra shifts to line your grubby pockets is directly putting your boot into Resident Doctors The Firefighters knew what solidarity looked like No excuses No scabs
Firefighters were asked to cross the picket line and collect bins in Birmingham. Firefighters are trade unionists and we will never disrespect our comrades fight for fair pay. Solidarity with Birmingham's bin workers! #megapicket
