But they didn't just abandon Drs They abandoned the PAs who they spent the past decade lying to. And now we have a cohort of graduates facing anxiety around job losses while College Leaders clink wine glasses in Grand Halls congratulating eachother for a job well done Cowards
Senior doctors who are complaining about the doctors strikes are inherently admitting that they think they have been paid too much throughout their whole careers Perhaps their pensions and savings should be raided to fund the current generation of Drs?
On reddit, Partners are saying wheras they were keen to keep their PAs on and work through a Leng compliant job plan on the same salary, some are now saying since this UMAP announcement, they think it will be less stressful to just initiate formal redundancy proceedings.
We were told that all PAs had a bioscience background Yet @CanterburyCCUni were canvasing prospective students telling them a first degree in health or medicine was not required It was the first thing they said when trying to sell the degree Utterly shameful

I have had to close my DMs because I was being bombarded with bots Open DMs was vital for collaboration on fighting the #PAproject Please fix this @elonmusk
1/ Kate Matharu, a GP of 25 years, told The Guardian that resident doctors striking “harms patients” and that people who put finances first “shouldn’t be in the profession.” We should talk about why this perspective is deeply flawed.
Day 6 of asking @wesstreeting for my money back or funding to study medicine Thousands in course fees RCP fees GMC fees @RCPhysicians logo was all over recruitment packs - they still charge £920 to assess a PAs ability to diagnose undifferentiated patients The lies continue.
Day 1 after @lengreview NHS Employers website still says PAs can see patients with undifferentiated diagnosis @wesstreeting I want my money back or financial support to study medicine “Join the NHS, you will have a job for life” “Further training gives you prospects” Lies
To any doctor/consultant that says, as a cope for their part in the degradation of workforce, replacing doctors and giving patients much worse outcomes ‘we don’t have enough doctors’ Where have you been where it comes to 100k doctors that have been forced out over the last 10…
GMC’s ambitions need to be re-examined in the context of their severe and dangerous failures over the PA project. As the Leng Report shows, GMC pushed for non-medically qualified people without core skills to be able to work as senior doctors, despite warnings from doctors & RCs
It's worse. For example, the GMC is proposing to remove its legal duty to award CCTs and give itself power to decide what evidence is needed for CCT. This move lets them write their rules arbitrarily, and removes legal protection from trainees. This needs scrutiny.

Hot take, NC removing the physician supervision requirement for PAs after 4000 hours (less than even the shortest residency) seems not only disastrous for PAs not trained for this but unfair for patients. Idk I feel like if you want to practice independently go to medical school
This is the Litmus strategy that @MSEHospitals have signed up to. Deliberately slashing your pay then trying to "grip and control" you. No thought given to staff or patients. Know your worth. Do not pick up locum shifts for insulting rates.
Toxic? Nope Measured analysis of the serial failures of the GMC to ensure safe care for the public Interesting to review the MOU contracting the GMC to the DHSC to register PAs in light of this
The @lengreview : I had placed faith it it as someone who has raised PA issues around safety for 2 years now as a @RCPhysicians Councillor Did it deliver? In my view… The Leng review offers pragmatism along with lessons for the NHS. Whether it’s willing to learn? Is a…
