Super exciting work from @GallowayLabMIT
MIT engineers have figured out how to turn skin cells directly into neurons — skipping the stem cell stage entirely. This could fast-track therapies for spinal cord injuries, ALS, and more. news.mit.edu/2025/mit-engin…
We traveled to DC to talk to Congressional Staffers about the impact of @NIH @NIBIBgov funding. It enables us to develop synthetic biology tools to advance cell & genetic medicines for patients in need. REPOST to deliver the message that SCIENCE saves lives & makes America great!

Excited to share that I’ve officially received the NIH/NCI Early-Stage K99/R00 award! So grateful for my mentors (Dr. Marcela Maus and Dr. Matthew Paszek), colleagues, and friends who’ve supported me. A slightly delayed but unforgettable birthday gift! 🎉 #K99R00 #NIH #MGH
My lab’s 5-year NIH R01 grant, awarded to study gene therapy for hearing loss, was abruptly terminated. I want to share how this action has been incredibly harmful and disruptive, not just to my lab, but to the scientific process itself. 1/15
Now that the lab has stuff in it, I’m looking for a postdoc. Must have: - Mouse experience (several years ideally) - Cell culture experience - An interest in T cells - Team player Bonus points for: - any flow experience - any scRNAseq exp (wet or dry) - CAR T manufacturing
@sara_mostafavi (@genentech ) & I (@Stanford) r excited to announce co-advised postdoc positions for candidates with deep expertise in ML for bio (especially sequence to function models, causal perturbational models & single cell models). See details below. Pls RT 1/
🌠 Announcing our latest awardees! 🤩 These talented scientists are uncovering how viruses infect cells, decoding cell behavior, and exploring the hidden biology in the ocean: bit.ly/HFAwardees. Meet the awardees & hear about their bold projects from our #HFScouts 👇 /1

Tay Lab is looking for a computational postdoc to work on proximity sequencing projects. Our new experimental pipelines extend this method to spatially resolved tissue measurements, intracellular proteins, as well as protein modifications like glycosylation, phosphorylation, etc.
We previously showed that IFNg is required for CAR-T efficacy in solid tumors, but is it always good? Here, we show that IFNg limits CD28 CAR-T cells and that protection from this signal drives greater antitumor activity and durability. Enjoy! science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
