Let’s try and keep people aware of the plight of our children. They matter. #SEND
Meanwhile @carriegrant1 has done an excellent accompanying piece on how the key to meaningful reform of SEND is "a mindset change in understanding neurodivergence and disability" inews.co.uk/opinion/uk-has…
Rise in school exclusions in England including among YR & Y1 pupils “We are also concerned that stripping away #EHCPs will leave more children at risk of exclusion and disengagement from school.“ (see chart in today’s SNJ post too) #SaveOurChildrensRights theguardian.com/education/2025…
Our campaign partner Tania from @SpcialNdsJungle writes why we’re fighting to save a system many say is is “broken” and “on its knees”. The problem isn't the law - it's that the law isn't being followed, enforced or properly resourced. #SaveOurChildrensRights
#EHCPs: Why we’re campaigning to save a ‘broken’ system. SNJ's @TaniaLT in @SchoolsWeek on the #SaveOurChildrensRights campaign: Stop the Government stripping away rights and instead fix what they broke. We will not back down until they do. schoolsweek.co.uk/removing-ehcps…
RT @SpeedMed - "We had the pleasure of hosting David and Louise from @spinalinjuries today. A huge thanks to both of them for sharing their stories and introducing the comprehensive range of support SIA provides."
What LA trialled this, please tell? Where is the supporting evidence for children's improved outcomes GCSE'S) in AP? How many fully qualified teachers are in AP's? Let me guess 🤔 No mention of academies, admission, uniform, or behaviour policies that aren't inclusive?

Liverpool parents, your voices matter—let's keep pushing for the support our children deserve! @LivPaCL8 @ADDvancedSol @DownSyndromeLPL @YPASLiverpool @BrainCharity @AlderHey @IPSEAcharity @SendCrisis #saveourchildrensrights
Two interesting viewpoints on EHCPs, and one that confuses the framework itself with the people running it. Proper support for children with special educational needs can lead to successful outcomes #SaveOurChildrensRights #TheLawIsNotTheProblem theguardian.com/education/2025…
“The idea that children with SEND can be randomly and adequately catered for by placing them all together in a “unit” in a mainstream school with no legal protection is preposterous.” #SaveOurChildrensRights apple.news/AYvLUfVJ4RkWML…
There’s is nothing brave and bold about removing disabled children’s rights and forcing them into units (with no right to support) to save money. We’ve been there before. Is the government really going to regress 50 years? #SaveOurChildrensRights apple.news/AUmwUHeDJRjKHk…
At IPSEA, we're used to people making all sorts of rash statements about SEN and EHC plans, but even we have been surprised by the extent of misinformation we have seen shared and in the press recently. So let's clear some things up...🧵 1/5
Ombudsman upholds 94% of SEND complaints - cypnow.co.uk/content/news/o…
Govt EHCP plans risk harming children with SEND. Will you fight for us? We need to know you're on our side. Prove your worth our vote! [email protected] #SENDCrisis #EHCP #SENDCrisis #EHCP @IanByrneMP @mariaeaglemp @KimJohnsonMP @DanCardenMP @PaulaBarkerMP
MPs are starting to say how it is in LAs too. How long will LAs keep silent?? #SaveOurChildrensRights
Exactly. Even with an EHCP we have to fight so imagine what it would be like with no rights! saveourchildrensrights.org.uk
EHCP in mainstream school with a Senco isn't working for some kids. The SEN team at my son's school was useless. I have had to fight for his education, and it's exhausting.
Steep inclines across the board from 2020. Any thoughts on this? “The charity’s research suggests that 97 per cent of those excluded in primary are children with SEND.”
Suspensions in England neared 1 million in the last academic year, with the number of permanent exclusions crossing the 10,000 threshold for the first time, new DfE data reveals tes.com/magazine/news/…
Another regurgitated flawed plan from the past - here's an idea, rather than listening to 'has-been' special advisors who've been partly culpable for the SEND Crisis with their flawed 'expertise' to date - how about listening to the people who live it EVERY-SINGLE-DAY!?!
Fundamental rights apparently to be replaced by "SEND units".
Please join up and vote if you’re a Surrey parent #SENDNationalScandal
SURREY families- this is your moment 9 mths forensic work found Surrey’s SEND system isn’t “improved” but collapsing; read findings & draft letter (in🧵) then answer 1 question via Facebook page (in 🧵):Does this reflect your experience-yes or no? Your collective verdict decides

Debate: Learning Disability Week - the real issues From welfare and SEND reform to preventable deaths and assisted dying, numerous issues adversely affect people with learning disabilities. What would you add to the list? #learningdisabilityweek learningdisabilitytoday.co.uk/debate/learnin…
On the 27th June the @commonshealth will hold a one-off evidence session to probe into the drivers of increased demand for #autism & #ADHD assessments great step forward in addressing the needs of these communities but urge those attending to consider #Tourettes in discussions
Short term relief for local authorities, but given the size of their deficits wildly unlikely to make a positive difference to children with SEND. Is two years the estimated timescale for dismantling their rights?
The government has extended the statutory override for local authorities, which will keep SEND deficits off their balance sheets for two more years. schoolsweek.co.uk/send-deficits-…
