What if the AI could write the paper for you? 🚨Spoiler alert: it does! We've designed a spatial transcriptomics AI agent to chart hPSC-pancreas maturation in vivo, and report on interesting biology, autonomously biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Andrew @_AndrewLeduc talked about measuring protein synthesis and degradation rates in single cells at @SCP_meeting: youtu.be/adkY6txDyqs?si… We are working on writing up these results soon, and will be happy to share the data with you.
What qualities do you need to be a successful scientist? 2018 medicine laureate Tasuku Honjo shares what he believes are the "three c's": curiosity, courage and challenge. #NobelPrize
Type 2 diabetes is often considered a protein misfolding disease. But where are these toxic proteins found? 🤔 🚨In new work out today in @NatMetabolism, we show that mitochondrial protein misfolding (yes mitos🤯) leads to beta cell damage in T2D. 🚨 nature.com/articles/s4225… 1/n

Predicting spatial patterns from expression profiling alone, congrats @arjunrajlab !
Very excited to share our new work on gastruloids by the incredible @ugcgccacc! We mapped gene expression across 26 individual gastruloids at single-cell resolution and discovered some pretty amazing patterns about how these "mini-embryos" organize themselves.

Our latest work is on the cover of @Nature (June 26, 2025)! Even more special: the stunning illustration was hand-drawn by first author Hao Sheng — a true scientist-artist.
Happy to share the exciting news that Jeya’s paper on ChemPerturb-Seq is online @JeyaVandana @TPCB_NYC @WCMSurgery @WCMCGH @WeillCornellGS cell.com/cell-stem-cell… We’ve also developed an AI-powered, open-access website. Have fun. chemperturbdb.com
Big #T1D news! Vertex has published their phase 1–2 trial of stem cell-derived islets (VX880, now called zimislecel). All 12 full-dose patients had reduced insulin need, and 10 no longer require insulin injections. Major step forward to a functional cure! nejm.org/doi/full/10.10…
Ives et al. applied top-down proteomics to evaluate proteoforms from human islets treated with cytokines. They identified several proteoforms that may be useful in determining the onset of T1D or candidate targets for therapeutic intervention. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Swensen et al. aimed to identify in situ proteome alterations of the human islets during stage 1 #type1diabetes through proteomics profiling of human islets by laser microdissection of islet sections taken from AAb+ and age- and sex-matched control donors. link.springer.com/article/10.100…
