For too long, @LGBTLabour has operated secretively, and within a London-centric bubble. It needs change. Thatβs why Iβm running to be the next membership officer. If you are an LGBT+ Labour member, message me for more information. We need your help!
π¨ @LGBTLabour members, there's an AGM coming: we're asking you support the Trans Rights Alliance π³οΈββ§οΈ We're a cross-factional group of proud trans, GNC & ally LGBT+ Labour members who want our organisation to boldly defend our community and actively engage our membership... (1/6)
Repurposing an LGBTQ+ campaign to push Zionism. Reprehensible. Utterly deranged.
Our Fight will be launching its "Get Over It!" campaign at the start of the London Trans+ Pride march, to challenge growing anti-Zionist and anti-Jewish prejudice in the UK. A number of Jews and non-Jews will gather, wearing t-shirts with the message 'Some people are Zionist. Getβ¦
A great reception for the @CommHumber stall at #HullPride today. #JoinAUnion
Had a fantastic day at @prideinhull marching with my @Unite_Community branch. Absolutely exhausted, but worth it!

I was at the London picket today. @wesstreeting was nowhere to be seen. While doctors showed up in strength, he was nowhere to be found; refusing to acknowledge that moving a doctor from Β£18.62/hr to Β£22.67/hr over time is entirely reasonable. He wasnβt there to answer whyβ¦
Betting shops pray on financial vulnerability. Regulation must be much stricter. Gambling can be one of the most harmful addictions. Thank you to @DawnButlerBrent for her work on this.
Why are there barely any betting shops in Canary Wharf but rows of them in places like Bethnal Green? It's not by accident. Aim to Permit makes it easy for betting companies to target less wealthy areas. Itβs time to end itπ #HighStreetsNotHighStakes dawnbutler.org.uk/high_streets

The one thing that this proves to me - the whole affair - is how essential resident doctors are to the NHS. Pay them their worth. Solidarity with those on strike from today β
π¨ NEW: The Lib Dems have called for patients to be sent to private hospitals to ease the impact of resident doctors strikes
Being LGBTQ+ in this modern world is exhausting, and I've been feeling that burnout recently. So, I wrote this and wanted to share it π

This is fantastic news. The UK government must follow suit.

The killing of innocent people is not new, and it's important to acknowledge that. Consistency matters - and I hope that politicians releasing statements today reflect on this. Action should have been taking a long time ago.
The suffering and starvation unfolding in Gaza is unspeakable and indefensible.

Absolutely heart wrenching scenes coming out of Gaza. The official death toll is almost at 60,000, but the actual figure is likely to be much higher. The UK is complicit in these atrocities until it stops treating Israel as an ally.
Between 2020 and 2024, there were just 1,318 cases of alleged electoral fraud. Just 8 convictions, and 3 cautions. But here we have people calling for postal voting to be abolished despite the fact it would disenfranchise the disabled, elderly, and students.
Abolish mass postal voting.
The marketing of this has been such a disaster.
Itβs not called Your Party!
Prime minister Keir Starmer posting relentlessly about βillegal workingβ and bragging about raids on communities, while saying nothing about the mass starvation of Palestinians by Israel. Sickening.

Can we stop pretending that Sunak did a βgreatβ job? He wasnβt good. He wasnβt bad. He was just a place filler for the inevitable general election. His time as prime minister was utterly unremarkable.
We should never have gone to Liz Truss before we went to Rishi Sunak, it should have been: May, Johnson, Sunak! Rishi did a great job for the situation he was handed
Thereβs a big difference between voting and being responsible for a council budget of Β£500,000,000, Darren. Nobody is saying young people shouldnβt be involved in politics - but a 19-year-old being responsible for an entire council is baffling.
By the way, the same people slagging off a 19-year-old council leader are the same ones saying 16-year-olds ought to vote! π€·π»ββοΈ
π austerity π doesnβt π work π
Britain needs brutal, brutal cuts - right across the board. It is the ONLY way to avoid absolute economic catastrophe. We are BROKE. It wonβt win many votes, but itβs the grim truth. Afuera on olympic-busting steroids.
