I said we’d put people smuggling gangs out of business — I meant it. From tomorrow, we’ll have new powers to freeze their assets, shut them off from the UK financial system, and ban them from travelling to Britain. Secure borders are a foundation of our Plan for Change.

Football is in our country’s DNA. It means so much to so many of us. That’s why I’m proud that today we deliver on our promise to fans as the landmark Football Governance Act becomes law. Protecting clubs across the country and giving fans more say in how they are run.

This is the biggest overhaul of the water sector in a generation.    My government will abolish Ofwat and establish a single powerful regulator to prevent water pollution and protect families from bill hikes.      Ending the chaos of the past.     Delivering for working people.

This is what our work on the international stage is all about — delivering for British people. Tackling migration. Creating jobs. Growing our economy.

My message to people smugglers: We're going to send back the people you smuggle across the Channel, with our new agreement with France. We're coming after the boats you use, with our new agreement with Germany. We will destroy your business model, piece by piece.

Britain is stronger and more secure because we work with our allies. Our partnership with Germany means we can smash the criminal gangs and secure our borders.
