Never settle for poor, low quality healthcare. NP and PA education is a joke. Protect yourselves and family from 🤡s #AskForADoctor #MedTwitter

6 billion surplus for NHS Pensions but we can't access it until almost 70? What the fuck is the point of paying into a pension you'll barely use? We need to renegotiate and strike over pensions. @TheBMA

ICYMI, @pa_StephenNash throwing tantrums. Glorious.
NHS England wants unsafe staffing during strikes. @TheBMA is calling for safe staffing. Tell me again how doctor's striking are the safety issue and not NHS England

Just had the worst interaction with a relative who was angry at the doctors because during a peri arrest call, the team couldn't get blood on the first attempt from their BMI 40 mother. Respect for medicine and the NHS is dead.
This is devastating news. I sadly suspect this will become more commonplace too. Fix this @wesstreeting. From this year. This cycle.
I am deeply saddened to learn of the loss of life and injury caused by the military attack on the Holy Family Catholic Church in #Gaza. I assure the parish community of my spiritual closeness. I commend the souls of the deceased to the loving mercy of Almighty God, and pray for…
Unless you're a doctor, in which case it's 23% down. That's why we're striking. We don't want a pay rise, we want pay restoration.
The average pay packet in the UK today, once adjusted for inflation, is the same size as it was in 2008. —Office for National Statistics
🚨London Doctors🚨 Did you know your London Weighting has been left behind compared to NHS colleagues and other public sector workers? How far behind, you ask? Take a look!👇🏼 Your @BMALondon will be launching our campaign to tackle this very soon!✊🏼 Watch this space! 👀
"PAs significantly more likely than doctors to believe thay certain tasks are appropriate for them to carry out" Is this not the definition of dunning-kruger? @pa_StephenNash

140 IMGs that will be employed in NW when we have an estimated 10000-20000 UKGs facing unemployment in three weeks. Great job 👏 @wesstreeting
Today, we welcomed 140 IMGs starting training in NW England! What a Journey seeing this project flourishing .. ✨ and reflecting on my personal experience. Massive support from our PG deans @NHSHEE_NWest & Well listening Lead Employer @MWL_LE to address Differential Attainment…
The review didn't even come close to examining evidence in substantive depth - hundreds of identifiable cases of harm ignored and not acknowledged, no acknowledgement of unlawful activity revealed at multiple NHS sites in relation to prescribing/radiation. If anything, the…
There’s so much brain rot in the replies—none of which deserve an individual response. Being a doctor is incomparable to any other profession. If I’m unhappy with how I’m treated or paid, I can’t simply leave for another employer—the NHS is a monopoly.
I’m so sorry but it irks me to hear £37k is a good starting salary as a doctor because there’s potential to increase in 5-10 years. Apart from the obvious fact that pay shouldn’t be based on potential, our career pathway is no longer linear because of a lack of training posts.
The Leng Review has shown itself to be a sham. Doctors concerns have been ignored. This report is nothing less than an unmitigated disaster and demonstrates the contempt Gov has for the public. There's plenty of money for our assistants but not for us. #AskForADoctor
*Leng review ignores evidence regarding safety concerns* Oh no there are no safety concerns! Ignorance is bliss right?
The review found no patient safety concerns. Patients turning up to see PAs this morning, as they have done for 10 years, now told there is no appointment for them 🚩No appointments for patients 🚩No support for employing GPs 🚩No job security for PAs
1/ Now the embargo has lifted, I’ve had time to read the @lengreview in full. While some celebrate minor cosmetic wins, I see the formal entrenchment of a parallel, underqualified medical workforce — built without medical training.
Theyre going to replace doctors with "advanced PAs" Strike harder. Fuck the NHS.
I took seriously the concerns being raised with me about physician associate roles and commissioned Gillian Leng to do a proper review that followed the evidence. Now I will act - starting immediately. theguardian.com/society/2025/j…
She did it! She didn't concede. Didn't back down. No lawyers. And she won. Dr @Rehiana1980 beat the GMC and overturned her suspension. She stood firm on her principles and made the Palestinian people proud. An honour to witness. That's how it's done. This is a victory. Legend🇵🇸
This guys company made 13k last year. He's not paying for anyone's payrise 💀
She’s the one going on strike, and expecting the rest of us to give her another 30% pay rise, after just receiving a 30% pay rise, while patients die!
So the government got rid of the 2 week wait targets because there aren't enough doctors to provide the service in a timely manner... But doctors striking for better pay and conditions are the problem? england.nhs.uk/long-read/chan…
What is absolutely unacceptable is causing hospitals and cancer patients even more worry, and missing out on even more medical care, by not telling the workforce team of your intentions. You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself and so should the entire BMA.
Average tory boomer
Fuck you. Spent 8 years flogging my guts out on the council whilst working full time as an inner city GP. Pretty sure I’ve given more back to society than a lazy boy anaesthetist like your good self.
