An update on the Sandy Creek bridge, which was severely damaged by flooding last weekend — a low water crossing is nearly complete which will allow the community access in and out of town for the first time since storms hit July 4:
NEW DATA: High-resolution computer models place scattered strong thunderstorms in Central Texas overnight, additional flooding is possible.
The State is making rescues in— San Saba Co. Lampasas Co. & Schleicher Co. Evacuations are taking place in Lampasas Co. Menard Co. Kimble Co. & Sutton Co. We are expanding operations in all affected counties— all while monitoring the rising waters in Kerrville.
Texas Task Force One and Texas Parks & Wildlife are making swift water rescues in Lampasas County. We continue to monitor all counties with a focus on saving lives.
LAKE TRAVIS UPDATE (7/13): Travis County Judge Andy Brown’s executive order has been amended. Only areas upstream from mile marker 36 and Sandy Creek Park are CLOSED. This ban does not apply to commercial operators, emergency personnel, or state and local agencies.
Llano River is already in Moderate Stage and expected to rise further in the next hour to over 18 feet. The river may rise even further. Updated forecasts can be found at water.noaa.gov

Heavy rainfall and flash flooding potential has increased for late tonight, especially over the Edwards Plateau and Hill Country. We are now looking at 2 to 4 inch rainfall totals with isolated amounts up to 9 inches. Most of the heaviest rains are expected after 3 AM CDT.
Please please be paying attention to flood risk tonight and through the rest of the weekend.
