Special session started today. On the agenda: - improve flood preparedness & recovery - end the STAAR test - cut property taxes We delivered historic laws during the regular session. But there is more work to do. That begins today.
Thank you to Governor @maura_healey and the state of Massachusetts for sending a Voluntary Agency Liaison to support flood recovery efforts in Texas. Other states’ support has been critical as our communities work to recover and rebuild.
Texas is awarding over $3.8 million in job training grants to Dallas College. This investment will help train over 1,900 Texans for high-demand careers. Texas provides better job and bigger paycheck opportunities for hardworking Texans.
Property taxes are on the special session agenda beginning tomorrow: - Legislation to cut property taxes. - Legislation to limit spending by government entities that impose property taxes.
