Liberal Democrats have been leading the fight to scrap Ofwat and replace it with a tougher regulator that will take action against polluters. Today, the Government appears to have finally listened. We will be holding their feet to the fire to ensure these promises are delivered

At last, the Government has listened to the Liberal Democrats. Since November 2022, we have been calling for Ofwat to be scrapped. If the Government do not commit to this, it would be a dereliction of their duty and a betrayal of millions of customers across the country.

The government says it wants to "rebuild trust in our democracy". This needs to start with reforming the voting system to give everyone an equal voice. Thank you to @tomgordonLD @sarahjolney1 @ChrisLawSNP @alexsobel @DrScottArthurMP @ShockatAdam for raising this in Parliament.

Thanks @tomgordonLD for raising the challenges faced by blind and partially sighted people in accessing bus travel. Concessionary travel is a lifeline for accessing work, education, and community and it’s vital that it's maintained.
