Alongside colleagues from across the sensory impairment sector, we were pleased to join this important roundtable and share the barriers people with sight loss face when accessing support services, including in healthcare and employment. Thank you @PeterPrinsley for your support.
Hospitals and public services like job centres must be universally accessible for people with sight and hearing loss. I've long pushed for sign language interpretation and braille as standard. Having met disability campaigners, I'll continue pressing the Government to act.
NHS England has published the updated Accessible Information Standard, which mandates NHS and social care services in England to provide information to blind and partially sighted people in a way they can read. It's a step forward - here's what's improved: #MyInfoMyWay 1/7
