Doctors braving the cold and out in force this morning on the picket at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. It is time for the government to get serious and get #PayRestoration sorted.

Strike picket outside the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham this morning. All that resident doctors are asking for is that a first year doctor gets £4 more an hour. @wesstreeting the power to stop the strikes is in your hands. Come forward with a credible offer.
Very proud of my colleagues for striking and grateful to the other unions, patients, and individuals who came out to support us!
Interesting tweet @wesstreeting Why not get back to negotiating and put forward a credible offer to end the strikes now. #DoctorsStrikes
Now we know why Rishi Sunak refuses to negotiate with NHS staff. He wants the strikes to go ahead, so he can blame doctors and nurses for his failure. #PMQs
A thank you to everyone showing support on the picket lines today from @Melissa_S_Ryan Stick Together. Strike Together. Win Together. #PayRestoration
People ask why should we give doctors another pay rise. Is it right that their assistants are starting on a higher wage? The power to end these strikes lies solely with @wesstreeting. A credible offer to pay restoration is all we are asking for.

You still have the power to stop these strikes, @wesstreeting. Instead of gaslighting doctors, how about making a pay offer that commits to pay restoration?
Dear resident doctors…
Wes Streeting’s leaked offer letter to the BMA confirms what many of us feared: there is still no serious intent from him to resolve this dispute. 🔴 No offer on pay - despite this being a pay dispute. 🔴 Vague references to “exploring” help with the cost of equipment, meals,…
UNSUBSCRIBE @DHSCgovuk @wesstreeting Instead of spamming resident doctors why don't you come to the negotiating table with a mandate.
The only one refusing to negotiate is you Mr Streeting. @BMAResidents Committee Co-Chairs are ready to meet. You are being unreasonable.
We negotiated and delivered pay rises worth 28.9%. This year’s pay award was the highest in the entire public sector. We cannot afford to re-open that pay award. I have offered talks without any preconditions. The BMA is refusing. Unreasonable. Unnecessary.
Wes Streeting has failed to commit to negotiate on pay. We are left with no choice but to strike. We will strike between 07:00 Friday 25th July and 06:59 Wednesday 30th July. This will be a full walkout. Strikes are the only message that successive governments listen to.
The future of the profession depends on you sending your ballot back today. If we fail the 50% threshold it will mean another generation of pay and contract erosion. The last safe date to return your ballot is Monday 30th June. Don't delay. Vote today.
Each vote counts - *your* vote counts! No matter how you feel about the pay campaign, the BMA, the NHS... Fact of the matter remains the BMA are the only ones that can legally negotiate with the govt on behalf of doctors. Give us leverage to advocate for our profession!

Our time is now doctors. The future of our profession is in our hands. Return your ballot today. We must hit minimum 50% turnout.
DHSC are genuinely afraid of strikes so their solution is … putting up posters in your hospital. They know how to settle the dispute. Show the govt that doctors won’t rest until we get full pay restoration.
Pizza event and ward walk today at the new MMUH Hospital @SWBHnhs in Birmingham! Doctors expect Full Pay Restoration - and since @wesstreeting won’t commit to it, we’re voting YES to strike action. ✊🏽Vote YES today! 🦀🦀🦀

Rent-free and unashamedly pro FPR since 2022. This year doctors have received less than 1% towards remediating their 23% pay cut. No wonder doctors are voting YES to strike and to restore our pay.
Have you suddenly developed amnesia @wesstreeting? Why would you meet with the committee just to tell us you won’t negotiate? Get back to us once you’re got an actual mandate.
So you met to tell them you won’t negotiate and offered to meet the entire committee to tell them you won’t negotiate with them either? Are you just a more sociable Steve Barclay?
Ballot arrived and sent off. Vote YES for strike action. Even with this years’ pay award your pay will still be down by 21%. The Government will only listen if we have a strike mandate. Don’t let us fall behind. #DoctorsVoteYes
By now you should have recieved your ballot paper in the post! 🦀 Make sure to vote YES and post it back ASAP. If you have not got your ballot in the post yet ➡️ bit.ly/BMABallot25 You are worth so much more doctors!
