Having sat through a public inquiry all week my conclusion is the planning system is a total farce, locals have no say in their future whatsoever & that our communities, farmland, wildlife & environment is under enormous irreversible threat.Appalling imbalance of power and money.
I'm going to try a little experiment. It's just gone 9:00am, London and parts of southern England are under an "Amber" weather warning, let's how long it takes for the sewage dumping to start and how it progresses over the next few hours. Oh look, it's only been raining for aβ¦
Minor panic I saw this, as an Asian one was found a few yards away last year. The camera useful & caught this rather beautiful hoverfly.

We are losing land at a rapid rateβ¦ and productivity has stalled on what remainsβ¦ and population is growing And our food system is fragile and βjust in timeβ based increasingly on imports, in a wider world thatβs now unstable and where demand is growing so exports vulnerable
A record number of farms shut in wake of inheritance tax raid. Labourβs βdisastrous policiesβ blamed as more than 6,000 businesses close. Shame on the Labour government for this. A spiteful and disgraceful way to destroy family farming and threaten national food security.

Over 33 hours of sewage releases in Whitstable yesterday from @SouthernWater, due to too much rain. As that happened, they were implementing a hosepipe ban for one million people across the south-east due to not enough rain. What a brilliant system.
The impact summary and draft legislation has been issued for the #FamilyFarmTax, and it is paper thin. There are no improvements to the proposal, and it appears to be being introduced as expected. The statement suggests 2,000 deceased estates every year will pay more tax.β¦

To the millions who cherish nature, our country without its natural heritage is not Britain at all. We can do better than bolt-on commuter dormitories. Iβm fighting for the green spaces we all love, and for a country where everyone is surrounded by proof that life is beautiful.
