Mentioning United Utilities can anyone explain how a company can double its profits in just one year, from £170m to £355m, and yet is still be allowed to increase prices by a whopping 32%? Yet again it's the customers who get played and the regulator @Ofwat sits back and allows…
286,000 people have already signed the very brilliant @SOSWhitstable's petition. They would like to get it to 300,000. You know what you need to do my friends, get cracking.

Over 33 hours of sewage releases in Whitstable yesterday from @SouthernWater, due to too much rain. As that happened, they were implementing a hosepipe ban for one million people across the south-east due to not enough rain. What a brilliant system.

The Rich List - you didn't believe it was in millions so we've updated it! Files are here sewagecampaignnetwork.org.uk/resources These figures are taken from annual reports published on company websites or filed with companies house for the eleven years ended March 2025; they are the companies’…

Holy sh*t…. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇
We discovered a huge 12,000 ng/l of PFOA in the River Wyre near a discharge outlet from the chemical plant. Now, investigations by the EA & UK Health Security Agency have found elevated levels of the forever chemical, classed by the WHO as a group 1 carcinogen, in local soils.
Now there's one parliamentary evidence hearing you will not want to miss. It's going to be essential viewing.
Tomorrow at 10am we're questioning @thameswater CEO Chris Weston and other senior leaders on the company's financial survival and ownership. Find out more👇
What utter nonsense. Nothing but playground politics masquerading as policy. Since when has rearranging the deckchairs, regurgitating an existing, failed 30 year old bit of legislation been seen as progress? 🤔 Oh and today was the day that the National Audit Office published…
Promise made. Promise delivered.
Wouldn’t be wonderful if instead of (maybe) sending water bosses to prison for ‘covering up’ illegal spills, that they were prosecuted for consistently allowing them in the first place? theguardian.com/environment/20…
"Thames Water has estimated the cost of upgrading its flagship Oxford sewage works has risen from £40mn to £435mn over just four years." Yet another way that we're been conned by industry and regulators. Inflate the supposed cost, squeeze bill payers for the extra money,…
The Government hopes a new Universal Studios theme park in Bedfordshire will use local companies like British Steel for materials, although no word yet on which British water company will provide the logs for the water rides
This evening we are welcoming Professor David Hall from the university of Greenwich, and local sea swimmer and wastewater bill boycotter Chris Stanley to the @thehorsebridge for a discussion about water company finances. Chris is 82 and being taken to court in June by @sewateruk…

Yesterday @labourlewis’s brilliant water bill, crafted with @ewan_mg and supported by @CompassOffice had its second reading in Parliament, and was music to our ears! We are so proud to be supporting it 💪🏼👏🏼🥳
Water is a critical national resource. It is part of our commons, and belongs to all of us. Yet a decades long ideological commitment to privatisation has seen water treated as a commodity, a profit extraction vehicle that exists to enrich a small few at the expense of the many.…

Incase you haven't been following this, Thames Water claims it needs £3bn in the next few weeks otherwise it's going bankrupt. Reality is the proposed loan is an initial payment of £1.6bn of which £800m is going to be charged in fees and interest. Yep, if this is allowed TW's…
