The killing of children queueing for aid and deliberate starvation of Palestinian people is utterly evil. The Government must act to stop Israeli war crimes. I've signed a letter calling to: ▪️ Impose sanctions. ▪️ Ban trade with illegal settlements ▪️ End arms sales to Israel

I warmly welcome the government’s response to the Planning and Infrastructure Bill. Thank you to all the constituents and nature charities who stood up for wildlife—this is a big win. Let’s now end the developer-led model to deliver a genuine win-win for housing and nature.
This is a really encouraging round up of Govt housing priorities for year 2. We've got substantially more homes per capita than in 1971 but house prices are up 3878%—let's tackle the monetary system causing this crisis and stop pouring public money into rich landowners' pockets.
In the 2nd year, the govt is looking to: ✅tackle our dysfunctional land market ✅address financialisation of housing ✅improve quality and design of new homes and places ✅diversify the housing market and end over-reliance on a speculative development

Chalk streams are vital habitats—85% are in England, 10% in Herts. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. Nature bodies are warning they're in danger—even before the Planning and Infra Bill passes. I'll keep working with @WildlifeTrusts to ensure they get the protection they need.
Southern water has imposed a hosepipe ban on areas in Hampshire and IOW which rely on the chalk streams for water. These are in danger of drying up. Many chalk streams in England are being sucked dry. Water companies are applying to abstract rivers below ecologically safe levels
The Government’s steps on solar for new builds are welcome—but we’re missing a huge opportunity with existing rooftops. Today I urged Ministers to introduce a scheme offering free rooftop solar installation for commercial and residential properties, paid back via energy savings.
I signed @LFPME's letter to the Foreign Secretary. The Israeli Defence Minister’s plan to forcibly transfer civilians in Gaza is not a humanitarian act—it’s ethnic cleansing. The UK must act: recognise Palestine, protect aid, restrict trade, and secure the release of hostages.
This week over 60 Labour MPs signed a joint letter to the Foreign Secretary, with many other MPs continuing to add their name or sending the same letter privately. Full letter and signatories here:
