I recently was invited by @BBCWorld to give my opinion on the tennis legend @Martina 's early Cancer diagnosis of throat and breast cancer. While the word Cancer inspires fear in all of us, early Cancer diagnosis can be treated effectively in most cases: youtu.be/KJheR0YIdw0
Precisely!
Left: a rubber flip flop - $865 Right: 1st bioluminescent houseplant straight out of a sci-fi (!!) - $59 Not saying bio needs to be obscenely expensive But every other industry knows it’s not about what you sell, but the stories you tell People should feel the magic of bio
Sometimes I see people being so frustrated on X, I just want to give them a hug 🤗.
Why do people seriously forge data in Science? The right way is very hard but when you find something real that nobody else on the planet knows about and you are the first to observe, the joy of that is beyond anything else you have ever experienced.
This @RetractionWatch story is a must-read. The author - clearly not happy after her fourth retraction - told the RW reporter “Go back to your editors and say, ‘Dr. Hazan is not interested in being a punching bag.’”
The only way is to do a solid co- founder dating exercise and it takes time.
how do I find a good co-founder?
I love that @thejesonlee is calling out on the need for brilliant people to build Deep Tech companies and not just build AI wrappers 🤦. This conference is going to the be the best the bay area has ever seen!
few facts since launch: - crossed 100 applications - nearly all applicants are technical - attendees profile is a mix of several exited founders, current founders, PhD candidates, and engineers from top & rising companies (SpaceX, xAI) - people are applying from everywhere: sf,…
Hyper focus is the most beautiful mode to be in.

Synbio will take off when we realize that bioreactors are the problem. Releasing organisms to solve environmental problems is where the action is and will be. Leverage biology's ability to replicate.
Sometimes you are wired differently and you can't rest until you build what you wish to see in this world.
The romanticization of being a startup founder is kind of insane to me: – You’re statistically unlikely to succeed – You’ll have no life and be totally consumed - Incredible lows – You’re locking yourself in for 10+ years This is insanely hard and NOT for everyone.
If you are building a new Biotech Co. and love to be scrappy like we are, this is the mothership to buy all your equipment at a third of the price 💲💲💲. Somethings inside are brand new!!!

A journalist once asked Gandhi: What is your message to the people? He said: My life is my message. And this was born the greatest standard one can aspire for.
Not attending @reindsummit but the energy it has on X is infectious! Aiming to make Biomanufacturing a huge part of the conversation for next year. Who wants to join in?
“It’s the time to take huge massive bets. The workforce needs to rise up again… we need everyone to take personal responsibility and move faster to reindustrialize our country. The hour is late. We have a short window.” — Chris Power, Hadrian I would add: let’s transcend the…
It's amusing to see how people think breakthrough Biologics would just be accessible to people just like Vaccines are. I would say to folks: you need to look at breakthrough anti-cancer biologics and where to do we stand with access to those with under developed nations.
Twitter fam: What is your favourite note taker? Bonus points if you can also record and transcribe in- person meetings. I have used Bubbles so far.
Everyone needs a push. Highly trained scientists even more. Sometimes immigration also gets in the way. A woman born in a certain society doesnt have a voice without first getting the highest education she can for herself - a Ph.D. Good things take time and push.
Larry Page and Sergey Brin tried to sell Google for under $1m so they could return to their PhDs. Paul Allen had to convince Bill Gates to drop out of Harvard. Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard took day jobs until pushed by a professor to start HP. Steve Wozniak wanted HP to build…
Everyone is born an original thinker and yet a few care about preserving it. It is the greatest asset and we are all impressionable and get influenced.
This is what we need to change!
The reason it isn't cool is because it has much higher barriers to entry for much lower pay than tech. I need a Ph.D. to earn half of what an engineer makes? No thank you.
Whenever I tell folks Biotech made enzymes for your detergents, they are surprised. Nobody thinks about how deeply Bioengineering affects our every day lives beyond just medicines.
An important point to consider- ‘biotech’ is not solely biomedical. Industrial biotechnology has had a large and positive impact. But agree 💯 on the need for better story telling.
