🧵/ I'm a policy nerd, so of course I had to go through and grade the Carney Liberal platform — Canada Strong: Unite. Secure. Protect. Build. It's policy-rich, deeply strategic, and very much understands the era we’re in. If you’re on the fence, I encourage you to read the…
“Let’s be honest about what this is. The government doesn’t want to own the referendum. It wants to be pushed into it, to blame the people for asking, to stay a step removed from the consequences. That’s not governance. That’s cowardice.” theglobeandmail.com/business/comme…
Bill C-5 is the kind of bold move we’ve needed for decades. Fewer duplicative approvals. Stronger consultation. More clarity across jurisdictions. For me, it doesn't just bring faster approvals. It challenges the idea that delay is neutral and doing nothing is safer. It isn’t.
I appeared before the Senate today to speak to the importance of quickly adopting Bill C-5 – our response to this hinge moment for Canada, and a key tool in strengthening our sovereignty and prosperity for decades to come.
There’s a lot of talk about national ambition these days. Sharing this article by @FlavioVolpe1 that shows what it looks like in practice. For decades, Canada has played a supporting role in the auto industry, but the global EV transition is a huge opportunity for us. Global…

It’s time to raise our national ambition. If Mexico can launch a car company, Vietnam & Turkey too, the big leagues are being recast. We need to want it. We can not simply play defence all the time & expect to win. We have to get at least one puck past the line. Go Team 🇨🇦!

#Peace is built in the heart and from the heart, by eliminating pride and vindictiveness. Let us carefully choose our words, for words too, not only weapons, can wound and even kill.
…Jesus Christ. The lowest bracket applies to *everyone*, including the middle class by any definition.
VERY misleading that CARNEY is calling it a TAX BREAK for the Middle class when in fact they are only reducing the LOWEST tax bracket by 1%
Absolutely agree, Cabinet appointments shouldn’t be based on physical traits. Luckily, that’s not what is happening. Lived experience reflects a broader definition of expertise for a more complete understanding of the country. It shapes how people lead, what they notice, and who…
It must be said. Choosing a Cabinet based on immutable physical characteristics is still a very messed up thing to do.
"The story isn’t that young Canadians abandoned progressivism... they’re disillusioned, divided, and more open to political alternatives than they’ve been in years...driven not by party loyalty or legacy but by urgency." New op-ed by me in @TheHillTimes hilltimes.com/story/2025/05/…
PMO says over half of the people walking up to Rideau Hall to be sworn into PM Mark Carney’s cabinet tomorrow will be new. It will be a small, focused cabinet with up to 10 secretaries of state, the office said.
The U.S.–China tariff truce may be temporary, but it’s meaningful. It shows that even limited relief can create room for serious economic recalibration. Contrast that with the U.K. deal, which offered little more than symbolism and left the country worse off than before. This is…
My grandparents didn’t speak English when they arrived from Italy. That didn’t stop them from contributing and building a life, building homes, feeding Canadians, and setting me up for the privileged life I lead.
If you want to live in the UK, you should speak English. That’s common sense. So we’re raising English language requirements across every main immigration route.
Unlocked | Those familiar with Carney’s briefings say his mindset seems clear: "How quickly can we do this?" "There’s a rigor to the way he thinks, and the system will have to adapt to keep up. It’s kind of refreshing to see,” said one senior bureaucrat. buff.ly/W2D5JLm
The Liberals just won Terrebonne by 1 vote. #everyvotecounts
Carney walked into the Oval Office, let Trump talk, and left with the 51st state nonsense declared “done” by the U.S. Ambassador. A quiet but decisive win for Canadian diplomacy. #cdnpoli nationalpost.com/news/politics/…
The argument, presented by anyone with a brain, was that the benefits outweighed the harms
I remember when people were saying lockdowns didn't have negative effects
This is why we need the CBC: high quality dispassionate non-partisan evidence. Disinformation is a threat to democracy. 🙏🏼 cbc.ca/news/poilievre…
Both the CPC and LPC talked about pipelines and energy corridors. Quebec has signaled openness to more than they have in the past. 2 Premiers stoking separation instead. Make it make sense. Because I got nothing here. Seems like a perfect time to work collaboratively.
Hey stupids: If you openly & willingly cheer against your own Prime Minister on the world stage, you’re not a “Canadian Patriot”, you’re a fucking traitor.
Horrifying. If someone breaches release conditions 39 times and can still stab three people, the question isn’t just why he was out, it's also why he wasn’t stopped. Yes, we need bail reform. But this was also a failure of enforcement, supervision, tracking, coordination, and…
Over 100 charges. Three people stabbed. Dozens of breaches. Yet somehow, this individual was still out on our streets. toronto.citynews.ca/2025/05/06/que… This is catch-and-release in action: a broken system that puts violent offenders back into our communities and leaves our members to…
Awful. You shouldn’t need to fight cancer and your employer at the same time. This isn’t a policy loophole. It’s a policy choice. And it tells you exactly how much some companies and systems value the people who keep them running.
