It'll be interesting to see how the Liberals respond to this. Their first through 10th instincts will be to attack Conservatives for being heartless. But that doesn't really work for euthanasia. Opinions transcend party lines.

The bagman role is actually increasingly rare and increasingly less influential in Canadian politics (thank goodness) as the role of corporate donations diminishes and the influence of individual donors rises. Ontario is the exception, not the rule.

I want to thank Andrew for bravely coming forward to tell his story to try and help others suffering with their mental health. And to Tamara Jansen for leading the effort with Bill C-218 to protect these people and get them proper health care and treatment, not assisted suicide.

This was the obvious decision based on the evidence presented in court. It doesn’t mean the men didn’t say and do a bunch of degenerate things, but that, of course, is not criminal
