Just ban account sharing? I truly don’t understand why they continue to allow it
We’re cracking down on migrants working illegally as food delivery riders. We'll share asylum accommodation locations with Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats so they can take action if riders are staying there. We will do what it takes to ensure fairness for British people.
All the hallmarks of being written by someone that’s experience of life outside SW1 is what they see from the window of the Gatwick Express. Shocking stuff.
A stunning claim from the Treasury’s Family Farm Tax impact assessment. They say it will have “no significant impact” on family life. Have the treasury spoken to a single farmer? It is already causing a huge amount of stress and anxiety amongst our hardworking farming families
Barely anyone in SW1 insider class (politicians / ‘hacks’ etc) understands the rising anger in (mainly but not only) England. Obsessed with reshuffles, speeches blah blah - but reality is a hot August is not looking good. Urgent action is needed - but instead all going on holiday
Great to be taking on this new role

Enterprise value of traditional cable assets are totally worthless without sports. Once they lose these deals to online companies over the next decade, expect TV to go away. It’s all about YouTube, IG, X and TikTok now.
The one and only @PatrickChristys should volunteer his services to the French police / NCA / MI5. In a day’s work in Calais he has tracked down multiple people smugglers and identified them apparently more effectively than law enforcement - just from his mobile phone. Remarkable!
Properly brave journalism from @PatrickChristys really exposing the crime of people smuggling gangs in Northern France - his reports make a mockery of dozens of govt statements purporting to grip this crime with French authorities and should embarrass slavish media reporting
great things to come... an expansion and new projects... and now the cherry on top - UK's most talented newsroom

Deficit is approaching £100bn YTD, btw Very, very dangerous territory
UK long-dated gilt yield 5.5%, a level not seen since 1998.
Unhinged story on Today now about councils moving their staff to four day weeks - all while council tax is expected to go up and quality of services is going down. An idea going largely unchallenged. This attitude is delusional - and at the heart of UK’s disfunction. Go to work!
So was it all necessary even on its own terms? x.com/RossKempsell/s…
The Taliban now claim they had the list of 24,000 Afghans (that cost British taxpayers at least £7 billion and the UK Government superinjunctioned) the whole time A Taliban official is quoted: “We got the list from the internet during the very first days when it was leaked"

The truth is that the UK Government has a non-public / hidden balance sheet for certain spending Long noted by Public Accounts Committee which has reported on it More should be done to improve scrutiny on this It is used too often to hide policy failures not for good reason
Gilt markets price UK sovereign debt on the assumption that the state’s fiscal stance is transparent, rules-bound, and subject to democratic oversight. The secret execution of a £7 billion relocation scheme for Afghan nationals entirely off-balance sheet, without a parliamentary…
This is a key moment for Whitehall to own up that it made a series of mistakes, sack the people involved, and send a clear signal that these kind of egregious failures are unacceptable in public life Politicians shouldn't be the only ones carrying the can for officials' failures
