I don't care how well-executed it is, or if the writing is compelling, or if I'm the only person alive who doesn't like it: If it's an unrelenting glorification of evil, vice, and depravity, it's a Bad Show. This applies even if the guy who turned to evil dies in the end.

I love how every serious fan of Lord of the Rings loves Tom Bombadil but no one, Tolkien included, can really explain why or what he's doing in the story. Somehow that makes him seem even more real.
