Remarkable that one of the strongest voices against the UK’s complicity is a Conservative. And he has the politics right: only the Labour back benches can change UK policy. We need a campaign to target *every* Labour MP to get a change, and soon.
Kit Malthouse to Lammy "can he not see his inaction & cowardice is making this country irrelevant? Can he also not see the personal risk to him, given our intl obligations, that he may end up at the Hague because of his inaction?" Lammy tells Malthouse his language is unbecoming
The UK government says it is doing everything it can to alleviate suffering in Gaza. The UK government won’t suspend the sale of F-35 parts to Israel. The UK government won’t stop the use of RAF Akrotiri or end military cooperation. The UK government won’t accept the ICJ…
Stop selling arms to Israel then.
The suffering of civilians in Gaza has reached new depths. Alongside 25 other partners, the UK message is clear: the war in Gaza must end now. We need an immediate ceasefire, release of all hostages and a full resumption of aid. gov.uk/government/new…
Starmer’s Labour government refuses to call it a genocide, continues to provide Israel with arms, surveillance and military training, rolls out the red carpet for unindicted Israeli war criminals, and criminalises those who dare to speak out against it. It’s their genocide too.
BREAKING: More than 30 people have been killed after Israeli troops opened fire towards crowds of Palestinians waiting for aid, according to witnesses and hospital officials news.sky.com/story/gaza-mor…
‘I’m thinking about all the medical staff and medical facilities in Gaza that have been destroyed by the by the genocide by the Israeli Defence Forces.’ Yesterday Metropolitan police made dozens of arrests of non-violent protestors for holding up placards outside Parliament…
The UK government remains fully complicit in all this. Shameful.
“Teenagers being shot by Israeli soldiers.” Nick Maynard is a British gastrointestinal surgeon, who is currently in Gaza, working at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis. We began by asking him what he can tell us about the shootings near the aid distribution sites this morning.
1/ The only way it makes any sense at all is if you have an alternative agenda for 1°care . One which involves fewer GPs, but increasing numbers of ANPs/PAs/Pharmacists/Paramedics & other ARRS roles. One based on taskification rather than continuity of care & holistic care.
I can not understand the need to reconfigure GPs through any other lens than achieving a specific Doctor:Patient ratio. Access. Continuity. Care.
The difference between Gaza and Auschwitz is that the world still has an opportunity to stop the ethnic cleansing in Gaza
🚨 SHOCKING REPORT: Israeli soldiers in Gaza are reportedly turning the targeting of Palestinian children into a horrifying and systematic “human-hunting game,” according to British surgeon Dr. Nick Maynard. He testified: “These children are being targeted almost as if it’s a…
ACPs on the Haematology Registrar rota………one of the toughest of all specialities with arguably the most unwell patients in all of medicine.🤯 Haematology experience is desirable but not essential. 🤯
To say that I am shocked about this job advert is is an understatement @nottmhospitals I hope you realise how complex and vulnerable Haem patients are, and how utterly dangerous this is, letting medically unqualified people play registrar in an extremely complex speciality 1/
Sat in air-conditioned offices in Tel Aviv, this monster gave the orders to drop bombs that killed tens of thousands of children Thousands more have no limbs because of his bombs He is currently in UK, welcomed by Keir Starmer’s Labour govt How long will we tolerate all this?
Physician associates who assist doctors in GP surgeries and hospitals will now be known as assistants. Health Secretary Wes Streeting says this "better describes the role that they do". Read more ➡️ trib.al/aKsx2Nx
I cannot begin to tell you the absolute burst of emotions that comes when you hear this from @wesstreeting 2 years of my life - trying to say this. Battling so many....challenging @gmcuk @NHSEngland @RCPhysicians @AoMRC Putting reputation on the line, personal insults,…

1/ Now the embargo has lifted, I’ve had time to read the @lengreview in full. While some celebrate minor cosmetic wins, I see the formal entrenchment of a parallel, underqualified medical workforce — built without medical training.
To the public - this is purely optics Politicians like Wes have sold out the NHS, your health and all the taxes you’ve paid have and will be siphoned into private orgs whilst giving you a wildly substandard care You’ll then pay again to actually get the right care I feel…
I took seriously the concerns being raised with me about physician associate roles and commissioned Gillian Leng to do a proper review that followed the evidence. Now I will act - starting immediately. theguardian.com/society/2025/j…
Not had a chance to look at the full report yet But one thing the BMA should now be absolutely clear on going into the strikes Doctors ASSISTANTS are paid 30% more than actual Doctors No more pulling punches
What happend 🤷
After the horror of recent days, why are we still selling arms to Israel?
Well done @ERunswickBMA on @BBCr4today - clear explanation as to why resident doctors need pay restoration Despite @bbcnickrobinson constantly interrupting and not letting you finish a single sentence Resident doctors deserve pay restoration to 2008 levels at the very least
When you allow poorly trained people to do the job of highly qualified professionals harm will come as sure as night follows day!! Anyone that has tried to suggest otherwise is a fool or has an agenda
