Ever wonder why pubs are going bust and you’ve queried going out with your mates? It’s because THE GREEDY TREASURY and Prohibitionist lobby groups means YOU (🫵) pay 12x more tax on a pint than in Spain. H/t @Sacha_Lord for the graphic and numbers
We can't reach Net Zero without crushing demand through high prices. If the AR7 contracts were under the 15-year system, their strike price would be £155.18/MWh (2025) Intermittents are expensive, and there is no getting around this obvious fact.
🚨BREAKING🚨 Maximum strike prices for Ed Miliband's missing wind auction are out. Gruesome. Offshore wind: £113/MWh Higher than last year. Highest in a decade. And that's before all the extra costs of grid, backup, and wasted wind. As a comparison, the average cost of…
Trump: "He has these think tanks. They build buildings for people that think."
I wonder how many Stop the Boats flags we will see on football terraces next season. It will be interesting to see how the authorities respond if the flags end up on television as well.
The other slogans are the most interesting
Earlier, protesters outside the Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf brought out signs saying “deport all illegals,” “stop the boats,” and “protect our kids,” among other slogans
Amount made by University of Bedfordshire selling this Bangladeshi gentleman a visa: £50,700 Amount spent by the taxpayer on his 28 year minimum prison term: £1,448,272
In my latest for @Telegraph I argue that putting asylum hotels across the country is exposing communities to dangerous migrant men, which is radicalising Middle England. To protect our children, we need to close them down and secure the border. telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/07/2…
Haha no, they really wouldn’t give me free food and lodging, laundry, priority medical access, taxis and spending money.
As Tony Benn used to say, pay close attention to the way governments treat refugees. Because that's how they'd treat you if they could get away with it.
"Why do ministers struggle to get anything done? Because policies have to go through a sausage machine of legal duties: the ECHR, the Equality Act, the Environment Act, the Civil Service code and the Attorney General's rules." @AmarjeetJohal on the Sceptic. Full episode👇
A little bit of England has died with Ozzy Osbourne today. So sad to see him go, but it was quite magical he got his farewell concert in so soon before he met his maker. Rest in peace.
The one and only @PatrickChristys should volunteer his services to the French police / NCA / MI5. In a day’s work in Calais he has tracked down multiple people smugglers and identified them apparently more effectively than law enforcement - just from his mobile phone. Remarkable!
It's depressing enough that the invasion of Afghanistan involved making friends with some of the worst people on earth, sadder still how few people in Britain care to reflect on this. I would not be surprised if this was merely the tip of the iceberg.
A mutual recently reminded me that British military high command all turned a blind eye to Afghan allies doing sick bacha bazi things every night. Pliant defence reporters didn't like probing this scandal too much, but even despite that, there are plenty of eyewitness accounts…
Sharp witty writing by Poppy Coburn @kafkaswife on Gen Z's disillusionment 'I’m sure Mao’s Great Leap Forward looks quite impressive when you consider we haven’t managed to dig a hole in the ground to store water for three decades.'

Insane. Six weeks in prison for sending a racist tweet. No threat or incitement to violence, but "clearly racist": six weeks in prison.
“Means test the state pension” takes are totally gormless. All you will accomplish is taking money from people who save and giving it to those who throw themselves at the mercies of the DWP
We are going to have a significant problem of elderly poverty in 30 years, and it is going to be particularly acute in Pakistani/Bangladeshi communities. It will also be largely their own choice. People who choose not to help themselves shouldn't expect others to bail them out.
Very excited to launch my new report on why and how to leave the ECHR, co-written with @SuellaBraverman .
