🚨NEW: @Columbia has announced further efforts – which are necessary, but not sufficient – to combat antisemitism on campus. - Adopts IHRA definition of antisemitism. - Appoints Title VI and VII coordinators which will issue an annual report. - Developing antisemitism trainings…
"It was violent. They're damaging property. Several public safety officers got injured in the process. This is a good first step, [but] there's a lot more to do." "It's sad to say but we've kind of gotten used to this." cbsnews.com/newyork/news/c…
We are pleased that @Columbia is enforcing its policies by suspending or expelling nearly 80 students who took part in an anti-Israel encampment during the Spring of 2024 and an anti-Israel takeover of Bulter Library in the Spring of 2025. This action shows that those who violate…
They support violence, vandalism, and terrorizing students. They would NEVER allow this for those with different speech content. These particular faculty SHOULD be ineligible for federal funds of any sort.
We unequivocally condemn @Columbia’s fascist crackdown on the participants in the Butler teach-in. Columbia will go down in history as an institution that punished students who raised their voices while Gaza starved.
We are sad to once again be in a situation where @Columbia students need to be disciplined so harshly, but we commend the university for taking a strong stand. We are hopeful that we will finally be able to return to research and teaching with this type of development.
BREAKING: Another positive update from @Columbia — after Public Safety officers successfully contained and identified the Butler Library mob, the university is handing down severe discipline to more than 70 perpetrators. Yet another unequivocally good decision by Columbia.
Great analysis from @StandColumbia, which states that this week's developments "may represent an incremental step in a quiet negotiation strategy aimed at restoring federal funding." This is a great start, but further reforms are still needed to fix @Columbia.
Issue #057: @Columbia’s new antisemitism statement is less of a pivot, more of a breadcrumb trail. We traced what’s symbolic, what’s substantive, and what might be part of a quiet federal deal. Deep dive here 👇 standcolumbia.org/2025/07/19/iss…
We are extremely concerned about reports that a recently elected Jewish @Columbia University Senator was removed for alleged “violations” of election rules. While the discussion in the Senate focused on “procedure,” we were not surprised to see that the motion was pushed by…
This is a big and positive change announced from @columbia Moving the rules process out of the Senate is very necessary and I welcome this announcement. secretary.columbia.edu/news/trustee-a…
Senate control over UJB and Rules has been the primary driver for lack of: discipline, rules enforcement, a mask ban, time, place, and manner restrictions, and many more common sense reforms. This is a big deal.
NEW: @Columbia’s trustees have clarified that the UJB (disciplinary process) and Rules are no longer under the purview of the Senate and were moved to the Office of the Provost. A huge step for structural reform at Columbia.
We are happy to see significant progress regarding @Columbia discipline. It has been clarified that “responsibility for oversight of the UJB, as well as the interpretation *and modification* of the rules, now resides in the Provost’s Office." This is a major step towards a…

.@TheAENetwork was delighted to recently learn that the next Kalaniyot chapter will be launched @Columbia! 👏 Glad it’s now official! The idea for this innovative 🇺🇸-🇮🇱 academic exchange program grew out of an AEN faculty mission to Israel last spring, & is spearheaded by AEN…
An important update from Acting President Claire Shipman on Columbia's commitment to combatting antisemitism: president.columbia.edu/news/our-addit…
I welcome these steps taken by @columbia including the unequivocal recognition that there is an antisemitism problem on campus and that it has had a tangible impact on Jewish students’ sense of safety and belonging. I hope this announcement marks the beginning of meaningful and…

Tarek Barzouk assaulted three Jews (including two @Columbia students) and said that he wanted to set Jews on fire. According to CUAD, he’s the “heart of [their] struggle.” Antisemites of the world, unite!
This is who they are defending:"According to court documents, other public filings, & statements previously made on the record in this case, over the course of approximately 9 months, Bazrouk physically assaulted 3 Jewish individuals at protests concerning the Israel/Gaza war."
CUAD AFFIRMS OUR SUPPORT FOR TAREK BAZROUK AND ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS On May 7, the FBI raided Tarek Bazrouk’s home and arrested him on bogus charges related to Gaza protests in 2024. He was denied bail and faces up to 5 years in federal prison. We demand his immediate release.
Tarek Bazrouk assaulted me on the streets of NYC. The @Columbia protest movement just called the charges “bogus” and took his side. This is what Columbia’s culture of antisemitism looks like. A $200 million fine is not going to fix anything. We need real accountability.
Despite our concerns with the anticipated agreement between @Columbia and the federal government, we remain committed to fighting antisemitism at our institution and to resolving the manifold issues.
If these reports are accurate, this would be a weak deal that abandons the commitment to holding antisemitic, anti-American universities like Columbia accountable. Signing this deal that fails to reform the university would leave Jewish students behind. President Trump has been…
While we would like to see federal funding restored ASAP, we are extremely concerned that an agreement that does not include real and structural changes will not resolve the antisemitism and anti-Israeli hate that have become pervasive @Columbia
This deal, as reported, would be a complete failure from the Trump administration. How do we know? Because the extremists at @Columbia are going to love it. We want a deal to restore federal funding. But it needs to decisively address the core issues at Columbia. Otherwise,…
