As of 5:30PM ET the initial arraignment proceedings have concluded. Despite the State’s motion to deny bail, the judge ruled that Jakhi will be released into house arrest under bond. This is a huge win for Jakhi and the entire movement backing him.
It is our duty to fight for Jakhi McCray and all political prisoners!
"Our greatest strength is each other—that we are not just coworkers maintaining appearances for the duration of a shift. We are comrades. And with that comes a promise to love, defend, & fight for one another. Because you are my comrades, I hold this promise towards all of you."
Bond set at 300k, plus house arrest — but Palestinian liberation activist Jakhi McCray will not be remanded despite a violent manhunt against him. Here’s his statement he issued earlier today: “Repression is the state trying to call our bluff.”
