I'm very excited to be running alongside a fantastic slate for LGBT+ Labour's Committee - it's essential that LGBT+ Labour works within the Labour Party to advocate for the rights of all LGBT+ people and stand up against bigotry in politics.
🚨 @LGBTLabour members, there's an AGM coming: we're asking you support the Trans Rights Alliance 🏳️⚧️ We're a cross-factional group of proud trans, GNC & ally LGBT+ Labour members who want our organisation to boldly defend our community and actively engage our membership... (1/6)
Really excited to speak at this fab event that myself and other LGBT+ activists have organised with South East Young Labour next Wednesday 30th July! Come along for a chat in Oxford about organising in the party 🏳️⚧️ Register using the below link 👇 us06web.zoom.us/meeting/regist…
If you're old enough to be allowed to get a job or join the army, we think you should be allowed a say in your future too. ❌🗳 So pleased we are delivering on our promise to give the vote to 16 and 17 year olds, bringing UK-wide elections in line with Scotland and Wales. 💪🏾

The latest Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) guidance presents significant concerns for trans youth, adults and our allies. While it acknowledges "gender reassignment" as a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010, requiring pupils to be taught about equality…
This was the replacement for the elections they cancelled. Thought I'd add that, since they still haven't mentioned that publicly. Follow @transalliance25 to vote them out at the earliest opportunity.
Thank you to Minister for Equalities @NiaGriffithMP for attending our brunch social today ☕️🥪 We welcomed recommitments on introducing a trans-inclusive ban on conversion practices as soon as possible, and to see through the bill to make LGBT+ hate crime an aggravated offence.

We’d hoped to be at the @LGBTLabour AGM… but we went to the social instead. We urgently need an AGM and a democratic committee vote - it’s time to give members a proper choice 🏳️⚧️
As of Today, the LGBT Labour National Committee is run by an entirely unelected group of individuals for the first time in its 50-year history. Democracy has been abolished by the committee for the committee. Only three of us voted to keep it.
Holding a Palestinian flag, and putting up a sign that says nothing about Palestine Action, does not mean you support Palestine Action. Whatever you think about this person's views, the law protects the right to protest peacefully in support of Palestine. The Government have…
I cannot tell you how much this angers me. Last year my husband had a breakdown. Nothing can prepare you for seeing the man you have loved for nearly 20 years turn into an empty shell. He was referred for NHS therapy June last year, he is yet to get his 1st appointment. 1/
53% of Britons say people with anxiety or depression shouldn't be able to claim disability benefits, with Kemi Badenoch recently saying people with these conditions should not be signed off work Should be able to: 37% Should not be able to: 53%
So many questions left unanswered about the frankly shocking handling of LGBT+ Labour's AGM, which follows an unfortunate trend of LGBT+ Labour's Committee being unnecessarily opaque and unclear in how it makes decisions.
Why was this only realised so late? What materially changed between when the AGM was announced and yesterday that meant this had to be a last minute decision instead of something that could have actually been thought out and seriously discussed? Because from the outside it...
Lucky timing it seems… especially considering the legal decision made by the supreme court was in April. The committee should have considered the fact that perhaps trans people might run for positions (especially when membership is made up of allies). So to do so last minute…
If it was a difficult legal decision, you’d have expected them to have made it *before* the AGM was announced, not 24 hours before registrations closed when their Committee positions were in danger of being lost…
🏳️🌈 New: @LGBTLabour has made the "difficult decision" to suspend its annual general meeting and committee elections, amid worries of legal action over trans candidates running for roles reserved for women. labourlist.org/2025/07/news-l…
As I noted yesterday, the AGM was announced on 14th June, almost 2 months after the Supreme Court judgement. There is nothing that @LGBTLabour knows now that it did not know on 14th June. I repeat my call for the committee to publish in full the legal advice they have received.

Finally, I'd like to express solidarity with @PompeySteph, who's faced attacks in the media for standing as women's officer despite being a woman. She should have been able to expect support from an LGBT+ organisation, not silence and uncertainty.
The incumbent @LGBTLabour national committee has chosen to delay the upcoming AGM on the grounds that, if trans women stand for positions reserved for women, that may risk the organisation being sued. But why is this being used to delay the AGM with less than 8 days notice?
Our statement on @LGBTLabour National Committee's decision to postpone the AGM. We fully intend to contest the LGBT+ Labour AGM. Trans rights are human rights 🏳️⚧️
