It’s just so transparently obvious that you go on a show like this to say the most shocking things you can in order to generate viral clips: citing a nazi at the drop of a hat, dancing around holocaust denial, calling yourself a fascist, and then you immediately get back on home…
Christian stated my thoughts exactly. I care about being Catholic, not any particular ideology. When Medhi used the term as a slur, I wanted to disarm the way it has been used to harm so many of us who just want a better world with God. Our Faith will not be slandered.
I don’t understand how a Catholic can sit there and refuse to acknowledge that the holocaust happened and was bad when Sts Maximillian Kolbe and Theresa Benedicta of the Cross are alive in heaven and know what you’re up to
I think the fact that Schoenberg could compose Pierrot Lunaire in 1912 basically explodes the whole idea that the world wars were in some way responsible for the rise of modernist art. Sometimes the conversation just takes a weird turn

As DBH said, Christianity birthed nihilism not because it is nihilistic but because it was so all encompassing of the beauty of reality that when it recedes, it takes everything with it.
The Christian world was thoroughly “pagan” compared to modernity in that it was enchanted. Rites and ritual, deep myth, devotion to saints, pilgrimages, etc. I see a very massive break in history with the rise of modernity, that I don’t see with the rise of Christendom

this story is absolutely unremarkable except in how it managed to combine almost everything it's socially acceptable to hate brilliantly: HR, Coldplay, Cheaters, CEOs, millionaires.
I appreciate this move toward accepting mexican cultural dominance but imo the mystique is more in the glass bottle than anything
