Let’s not pretend this is neutral. The Academy claims to recognise the right to strike, then leans on doctors to undermine it. This was crafted to batter resident doctors while clinging to charity rules. The service has been unsafe for years. Where were they then?
The same @AoRMC that supported the proliferation of PAs? - now undermining residents for their honours The most serious failure of leadership is the failure to foresee. Who are our ‘leaders’ and who do they represent?
Consultants and SAS doctors in England - look out for your indicative ballot email from @TheBMA today! Wes Streeting called pay restoration "a journey, not an event" - so why have we stopped? Are you prepared to stand up to demand your value is recognised by the government?
"cutting edge and experimental" Take my money.
Today we launched a new product called ChatGPT Agent. Agent represents a new level of capability for AI systems and can accomplish some remarkable, complex tasks for you using its own computer. It combines the spirit of Deep Research and Operator, but is more powerful than that…
I do wonder if the commissioners live in an alternative world. They are cutting services. Wait times are sky high. Acute trusts unmanaged. Failure to act on legitimate concerns from multiple practices meanwhile they post this.

Guess who has been training on the Leng review this morning? Oh yes, I am a right laugh at parties. Head over to Ankit AI and you can ask questions on the report directly. Any issues do let me know. (No login. No registration. Takes seconds to start using it).…

Will be good to see topical capsaicin back in pharmacies. I'm partucularly am interested to see what the products will be called, if they keep their brand name, and at what price they will be... #Ennogen ennogen.com/news/deal-anno…
As BMA Deputy Chair @ERunswickBMA rightly says, moving a fully qualified doctor from £18.62/hr to £22.67/hr is entirely reasonable; especially over a few years. These doctors make critical decisions every single day. But @wesstreeting doesn’t think they’re worth even that.
This policy is on the government carousel wheel for make it look like we are doing something meaningful. Same as GPs prescribing cycling, art classes and gardening courses. Makes a headline. Makes noise. Increases consultation rates. Patronises our patients.
Requesting "Sick Note" is often the "Last Straw" Most people genuinely do not want to GP off sick, they do so because they can't access the HELP they need early enough. We will miss the boat if we focus on sick note & not what drives the need for sick note.
Have I understood this correctly. Wes wants to fix a broken NHS, reduce waiting lists and improve quality. States that the strikes will lead to the opposite as the Resident Doctors provide a crucial role. And states in the Commons that if strike action goes ahead he will cut…
In Commons, @wesstreeting tells MPs he can't promise strike action won't lead to job cuts, including doctors. "If this strike action goes ahead with all of the costs, pain & misery that follows, it won’t just be patients that suffer, or indeed this Govt. It will be the BMA too.”
Yes. This! This is exactly what the 10YP and @wesstreeting entirely missed. People aren't just diagnoses. The job of a doctor isn't just to order a test or write a script. Medicine is NOT transactional. It is relational.
AI: Diagnosed ulcerative colitis. Suggested mesalamine. Predicted flare risk. Me: Got her food. Called transport. Wrote discharge at 4th grade level. Found her a ride. Still my job.
I’m a GP who runs a dispensing practice (and am a pharmacy owner). You're absolutely right, but I think there’s a bigger issue that’s being overlooked. The ten-year plan fails to recognise the impact on rural communities that rely on dispensing GPs. If these plans go ahead,…
The proposed changes to Pharmacy in the 10YP have almost gone unnoticed (well, not on the MedTwitter). But I think these are MONUMENTAL. To the point of completely resetting who a pharmacist is and what they do. 1/
So what he is saying is that Resident doctors are essential to the health of the nation. I suspect Danny Mortimers secretary is paid more than they are. Why are they worth 20% less than 2008? Why are doctors assistants paid significantly more than they are?
Danny Mortimer, chief executive of NHS Employers, said: “Resident doctors downing tools for five days of strikes will have a huge impact on the NHS and its patients and will likely lead to thousands of cancelled appointments and operations."
If we (as a rural surgery) could access this, it would be a huge positive for patients - why are we failing our patients because they don’t live in suburbia??
This is the kind of thing that hurts rural practices. New technology which ignores integration with rural general practice. The impact is massive but instead the system prioritises other sexier initiatives. General practice meanwhile starves in the corner.

Cornwall hospitals go live with the electronic prescription service tomorrow, but did you know that #rural patients can't benefit because the NHS won't pay to connect their usual #dispensinggp practice? That's a lot of benefit lost @benmaguirenc @JayneKirkham4 @Perran4CRH
