Imagine going through your whole career, reaping its benefits, then condemning those who come after you, despite the fact they face far worse pay, conditions and job prospects. This generation of doctors is standing up and fighting for our profession. Long may it continue. FPR.

Some of the general public seem quite fixated on how doctors are paid for out of hours work, and they don’t seem to like it. And we have a mandate to permanently withdraw from all out of hours work until January 2026. So why on earth don’t we listen to the people, and give…
Prof @parthaskar will be suspended by the RCP after raising concerns in an open and transparent manner. This sets a dangerous precedent. Inaction is complicity. RCP members must speak up. ✍️ Sign the letter 👇👇👇
I’m not usually one for petitions but when someone is ousted from the RCP for raising safety concerns, silence isn’t an option. @parthakar’s removal is shocking. Council must refuse to ratify it next week or risk complicity in the governance failings laid bare in the Kings Fund…
“All we are seeking is a reversal of pay cuts. We want that to be relatively speedy and we want that to be a reasonable journey, just like @wesstreeting promised us last year.” @ERunswickBMA speaks to @LBC about resident doctors’ pay dispute with government👇
Apparently no money to pay doctors £22.67/hr. But £1,300,000,000 to pay management consultants. Now we know where the money is going @Wesstreeting.
Misleading, not all delivered by Lab and not real terms rise 28.9% = gross 23,24,25 pay 22.2% in 23-24 5.4% in 25 Of 22% in 23-24, we already -had 8.8% -were recommended further 8% cumulative 17.5% Lab only proactively put forward 4.05% in negs 2025 pay rec from DDRB 🧵 1/x
We negotiated and delivered pay rises worth 28.9%. This year’s pay award was the highest in the entire public sector. We cannot afford to re-open that pay award. I have offered talks without any preconditions. The BMA is refusing. Unreasonable. Unnecessary.
A morning spent writing to Council @RCPhysicians asking them to consider issues of Duty of Candour and Proportionality And an ask to review decision by blind panel of Censors- which fails basic tenets of 'natural justice' Slightly surreal to have sent email- and then recieve…
It's always weird to see these bizarre claims that the committee is "hard left" or "corbynistas". This is a wave of young people aged typically between 23-35 who see Broken Britain for what it is. Raising rent, raising house prices, raising energy prices, raising leisure…
⚠️ NHS England is still hiring senior staff to expand the Physician Associate workforce – even while it’s under a national safety review and the organisation is being shut down.
I graduated as a doctor 4 years ago with ~£100k of debt, and despite working up to 72 hours a week, my debt has only increased. Doctors are being paid £17/hour and have to make loan repayments and pay thousands for exams and fees. We are only asking for £23/hour. @wesstreeting
“Our committee is on standby to consider any credible proposals you make.” Co-chairs @Melissa_S_Ryan and @RossNieuwoudt have written to @wesstreeting saying there is still time to present a credible offer and call off the strike.
Would you like to take credit for our pay rises since the 1950s too? You added 4.05% to the existing 8.8% (conservative) pay award from 23/24. The 24/25 DDRB average 8% was *already* written when Labour came in. You said you agreed with the premise of full pay restoration.…
Read the below from @iDrSunny And a reminder that the @RCPhysicians wants me to step away from Council due to me taking into public the unwillingness from seniors to submit Council minutes to @lengreview Here are some of the tweets which drew complaint And basis for above…
Wow This is a serious case for corporate manslaughter by DoH, NHS E, GMC, CQC, RCP et al PAs involved in more than 40 never events in 5 years in one trust. I bet that’s underplaying it too!
