Dear Carers, New hash tag from me as a way to highlight the daily demonisation of disabled people spewed forth on news, twitter & general public Please attach #DailyDisabilityHate to all posts, RTs or replies , TV clips, speeches, articles #TheyHateUs
🧵As #UnpaidCarers of disabled children (mine now adults) we deal with this #MedicalGaslighting & ignorance from Drs all the time, it's exhausting on top of the Caring 24/7 Oh that's in addition to running #FII claims against us expert parents/patients at the drop of hat
Reddit is so horrifying bc you can go to a sub for people with health problems and see tons of people desperate for help, strategizing on how to be taken seriously, and then you go to a doctor sub and it's full of professionals talking about hysterical women and blue hair.
Clip Sarah Boothby on todays BBC Breakfast segment on the UK government's new #MECFS Delivery Plan “I was accused of fabricating Maeve’s symptoms right up to the point in which she died. Two days before she died, we were subject to safeguarding investigations.”
Clip of Dr @BinitaKane speaking on BBC Breakfast about the new #MECFS delivery plan. The plan changes nothing now. “There are no commissioned services, so clinicians can’t practice this medicine within it. That forces both doctors and patients into the private sector.”
#UnpaidCarer calls for ambulance - doesn't come, so she dies. Therefore disabled daughter starved to death. No one found their dead bodies for months No #UnpaidCarer in the uk is surprised. Clearly zero support provided for the mother by services prior to their deaths
Terrible indictment of our times. A very ill mum died despite phoning an ambulance & her daughter with Downs died probably through starvation. They were not found for months. Not a tragic situation it's about the breakdown of our services & communities nottinghampost.com/news/nottingha…
Knock Knock ...When are abnormal results "normal" ? When the mother has the raised concerns & wants here child to get better
If the blood tests are normal, can you explain why you would do a 9am #cortisol test at 1pm and a #homoscytine test at 1pm ? When they are to be done before 9am? And how this equals normal ? I have a cortisol of 218 at 9, child b was 216 at 9am described as normal in clinic…
"This is government openly ignorant, cruel and happy to seemingly spread a message to the population that disability is nothing more than a drain on the public purse." Read @Danwhite1972 blog for @AmnestyUK on the benefit cuts amnesty.org.uk/blogs/campaign…
Who do you trust, @JeremyCorbyn, @Nigel_Farage or @Keir_Starmer? Please RT after voting
Armond has #LongCovid. This is his experience. #CountLongCovid
What an evil article written @MHTGilleece endorsed by @toadmeister #POTS has been linked to #Longcovid it’s also been around for years but the young women it usually affects are told by misogynists it’s in all in their head. To be diagnosed with POTs you have a tilt table test…
Walking sticks are taking off among teenage girls, and Mary Gilleece spies a social contagion taking hold. They're getting diagnosed with POTS – which, naturally, leaves them in need of lots of attention and support. dailysceptic.org/2025/07/07/int…
My first PIP assessor did not know what a colostomy was, know what colostomy irrigation is. She wrote the report that I did not have any continence issues, nor need any aid or appliances to use the bathroom… Just to give a flavour of how shit the assessments are.
This nails the issue: This is about Labour shrinking access to support for disabled people. It is shrinking the welfare state for disabled people. It is withdrawing the nation's support for disabled people. It is repulsive and must be stopped.
“The bottom line is, you want fewer disabled people in receipt of PIP" @vicderbyshire #bbclaurak
The Welfare Bill is a total and utter mess. It should be scrapped, yet the Labour government is planning to rush it through all its stages, which would normally take weeks, in just ONE DAY. NO scrutiny. How can this be supported by Labour MPs? #TakingThePIP
“We don’t have people ‘trapped in the benefits system.’ We have people trapped in a prison of despair and fear that literally makes them sicker. The system isn’t broken—it’s working exactly as designed. And that’s the problem.
The UK spends as much on tax breaks for the wealthy’s pensions as it does on benefits for people with disabilities. One is handed out automatically. The other is fought for, often for years. If you want to see how rigged our system is, read on. 🧵
Hi MPs if you get swayed by these bullshit concessions your constituents will make sure you lose your job next election, thats all. We're your employers not Starmer
Disabled lives should not be 'negotiated' or conceded over. Last year, the UN highlighted that the DWP assessment process led to 600 deaths in 3 years. The *only* conversation on disability benefits that should be happening is how to build a system that doesn't cause death.
UN rapporteur Laverne Jacobs highlights that the UK government's benefits assessments process has led to around 600 deaths in the last 3 years #CRPD24 What answer does the government have to that?
We wrote to @Keir_Starmer to express “profound concerns” about the disability benefit cuts and thank the 160+ MPs who have signed the reasoned amendment. Minor concessions won’t cut it. @UKLabour must stop, properly consult with disabled people, and re-think. #TakingThePIP
One thing ministers are deliberately misleading the public and what the media are refusing to acknowledge is that approx. 54% of the benefit bill is the state pension which is a statuary right. Take that out of the equation and the actually cost in benefits is very low.
The government should have listened to disabled people a long time ago: stop these disgraceful cuts and drop the Bill.
