❗ Say it louder for the people in the back: you can't budget when you have no money. We speak to parents who are skipping meals to feed the kids and people who are terrified about rising bills. No amount of budgeting will make incomes stretch to cover the cost of essentials.
I can’t convey just how important books like Rachel’s Ramping Up Rights are right now. If you’re in Manchester tomorrow, please consider stopping by and showing support for her & the ongoing work she does for our community! Details below!

I feel it's my public duty to tell you all that The Osbournes is on Amazon Prime
the fact the Universal credit bill had its first and second debate and then was passed through the Lords in less time than how often people get uc (every 4-5 weeks) is a fucking travesty
Now, we need to take our attack into two prong approached. 1. To protect ourselves and community and make sure we survive so we can kick those who harmed us out next election. 2. Keep the cuts in the public eyes. We lost this battle but we will win this war.
reminder that “Rest In POWER” is not for white men. it’s for BIPOC victims of state violence
While it's devastating that the UC Bill has passed through the lords, its important to highlight just how much the incredible work of activists made the government strip it back. This is the power of disabled people when we come together. They will never take that away from us.
Every email to the Peers is part of the reason we've got a nudge on the Severe Conditions Criteria NHS diagnosis criteria though and that is very, very important. And we'll go through Hansard with a toothcomb for things useful for future legal stuff so really huge 👏👏👏to all x
While the universal credit bill passed in the lords, I am however so proud of how hard we all campaigned to make this bill much more watered down than it could’ve been. If you’ve been involved even a tiny bit I hope you still know you made a difference #TakingThePIP
Ok, possibly less bad /actually good news perhaps as a result of our lobbying. For the Severe Conditions Criteria, a diagnosis will count IF recorded in the NHS system i.e. recognised by the NHS. So a private autism or ADHD diagnosis will qualify IF your NHS GP has it on record.
The House of Lords will debate the Universal Credit Bill later this afternoon. Serious questions remain unanswered. We’ve joined 12 other leading anti-poverty and disability charities to set out our remaining concerns about the bill. ucpipbill.co.uk
i love when we circle around to another groundhog day on this app, of leftists yelling at disabled people for using delivery apps instead of *checks notes* organising to ensure better working & pay conditions for the workers on those apps
🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨 DR UK’s CEO Message To The House Of Lords - Oppose The Universal Credit Bill Cuts Today, the Government's UC Bill will be debated by the House of Lords - we have written to House of Lords members urging them to reject the cuts 👇 disabilityrightsuk.org/news/dr-uk%E2%…
Suspicion by design An essential read to understand DWP use of algorithms in machine learning models to detect fraud, riddled with bias and risks to individual data rights, with the potential to negatively impact huge number of people. bigbrotherwatch.org.uk/wp-content/upl… @BigBrotherWatch
Where's the outrage now? There was plenty of hate and outrage when disabled people were being accused of defrauding the system, so why not the same outrage when DWP staff are caught stealing?
DWP staff have been caught stealing disabled people's benefit money The @theipaper reported the story, but don't think it downplayed DWP staff stealing from claimants - instead, focusing on... yes, you guessed it: benefit fraud. A 'few bad apples'??? thecanary.co/uk/analysis/20…
