Huge respect to @asifamhp and all AMHPs across the country. It is without doubt one of the most challenging jobs there is and it’s getting harder by day. We really owe them and need to look after them.
Today I have mostly been threatened with violence & a fairly gruesome death✔️ Tomorrow I suspect I will be getting a S.135(1) Warrant & continuing the conversation✔️ It’s some job this #AMHPingLark sometimes/often✔️ *I often find myself> #AMHPlife #AMHPbag #AMHPlunch
This is cracking.

CQC rates Kensington and Chelsea Council’s adult social care provision as outstanding. cqc.org.uk/press-release/…
And as per other social workers comments, an arrangement for social workers to pay on a monthly basis to help manage the increase is the very least concession we should have had following consultation. Come on @SocialWorkEng do the right thing, eh?
We share the frustration felt across the social work profession about the sharp increase in renewal fees announced by Social Work England. The decision to implement the full rise, without modification or meaningful concession, fails to reflect the scale of concern expressed.
I've been proud to stand up and speak about male violence against women. @WhiteRibbon_UK are a national charity who are based in Calder Valley, I have worked closely with them for many years. I’ve written about why men’s voices are needed in this debate. whiteribbon.org.uk/news/2025/7/23…
I understand the need for @SocialWorkEng to raise fees but one change I really wish they would make is allowing direct debits quarterly or monthly rather than just twice a year. Allow us to spread it out as the costs rise. Any possibilities?

Thinking about implications for records, assessments etc as we try to move away from exclusionary, professionalised language. Not heartened by the example from MN's website. Seems a retrograde step. Sure, change the style, train it etc but what of human authenticity, integrity?
Being based in the centre of a city has its perks. Opening the window in a meeting room where I am on a Teams call, and the minute I come off mute to speak a bloke passing by sings the theme tune of Only Fools and Horses from start to finish.
Maybe it’s me & I am too defensive, but I find the accusation that social workers aren’t professionally curious or need to be more professionally curious to be incredibly insulting. Honestly, get the degree, give the job a go, dedicate your career to safeguarding & then tell us.
Brilliant to see my friend, colleague, social worker and inspirational collaborator @ElaineLJames of @bradfordmdc awarded an MBE today from King Charles. Her work on promote the vote and her impact on social care & social work is utterly remarkable. A very well deserved honour.

Absolutely repulsive. People should be jailed for this. What kind of fucking country are we.
"We are not social workers" is the laziest trope in policing. Always ends up showing the person making complaint doesn't understand what social work is - and this confused article by the Metropolitan Police Commissioner shows exactly that. thetimes.com/article/d5f402…
