‘The question of “how it is proposed to ensure full compliance with best practice and by when?” is one that could be asked universally of most services who are supposed to provide support to learning disabled and autistic people.’ How and when could start with @AliveLeder ?

Imagine living in that house down there… sandwiched between the Kinder Plateau and Mount Famine. #PeakDistrict

A mum & her disabled daughter who were left dead for ‘weeks or months’ could have been saved if an ambulance was sent when the mum called, a coroner says. Mum Alphonsine died of pneumonia while her daughter Loraine died of malnutrition & dehydration. RIP 🙏🏾bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
‘The lack of effective action in the face of this well-rehearsed knowledge, of knowing people will die as an outcome of certain and repeated conditions, constitutes social murder’ @AliveLeder is 9 months late.. #Socialmurder
Hat trick (maybe more) from @GeorgeJulian this week. "I think its about time we stopped expressing shock and horror following these deaths." The word sadness is losing it's meaning. georgejulian.co.uk/2025/07/25/it-…
St Andrew's said it had suspended a number of staff and launched an investigation into the allegation. #GroundHogDay

Enjoy your break @wesstreeting. If there is a summer clean out at the @DHSCgovuk and you spot any missing reports, we'd love to know!
This is out early. Gulp. Not seen it in real life yet…
‘People with learning disabilities experience impoverished lives globally and continue to die prematurely’ I suspect the books first sentence sets the scene for a difficult read. @sarasiobhan I’m digging in. #Socialmurder

@mencap continues to reduce the humanity and lives of people with intellectual disabilities to a bunch of transactional needs that require compliance with. Disgraceful. Why no outrage against the systemic breaches of human rights of disabled people?
This is literally an advert. The “voice of learning disability” has reached an unimaginable low.
‘It also seems even if learning disabled people’s deaths are reported, they have slimmer chances of having an inquest than the general population.’ Practical data issues. The numbers are skewed from the start.
Gargantuan post from @GeorgeJulian about the deaths and (non-death reporting) of people with learning disabilities. georgejulian.co.uk/2025/07/24/a-d…

Today Ofsted has judged TWO children's homes run by the same company inadequate, with serious and widespread failures that mean children and young people are not protected. Take a bow, Dimensions Care Limited

📣 Eddie's death was avoidable. It was caused by failures at the Trust to recognise his changed feeding plan, the importance of his feeding plan, the fact that getting it wrong could kill him, and the failure to read his notes and communicate. Read more: brnw.ch/21wUmA2
