Parody RCGP - Not a Doctor or PA
@Parody_RCGP
The Rolo Crisps of Gravy Pancakes (RCGP). Parody.
1/n I want to say something about PAs. I don’t know yet if this will be long or short cause I am not psychic. What I do know is this: the situation has become a mess. Not just administratively. Not just professionally. But emotionally. And it’s going to leave scars.

Wankpuffin of the week title goes to the prick that is Giles Coren. "And when their GP questions that request, they must tell him or her to shut up and do it"
A guy said I had saved his life and he wanted to take me out for lunch. So I went…. thetimes.com/article/de28d7…
your intentions may be honourable @gilescoren but you are getting the science wrong. Screening is complex and counter intuitive. It can be easy to think that you are doing good while causing harm. If you'd like to discuss (even over lunch) - let me know.....

You have all have seen my post about my take on the PA situation (see thread linked). This is a first hand account in pulse from a PA colleague... pulsetoday.co.uk/views/guest-op…

Nothing to see Here.
repost from Reddit. A Trust in the U.K. tonight, without any strikes taking place. @wesstreeting @ShaunLintern @SkyNews @LBCNews
A short paragraph on your website would earn you a box of Celebrations from me!
On reddit, Partners are saying wheras they were keen to keep their PAs on and work through a Leng compliant job plan on the same salary, some are now saying since this UMAP announcement, they think it will be less stressful to just initiate formal redundancy proceedings.
That's a really important point that I hadn't quite appreciated. Why is the GMC getting itself involved with registering assistants?
It’s quite clear that the leaders of the GMC (or the GMC itself) have to be replaced No credible way out for them And every PA who has paid for registration (name on a spreadsheet) needs to be refunded, there is not a need for assistants to be registered
Another UMAPs own goal ? 😬

Simple solution. Every time the GP has to do something they can bill the trust. Simples. Everyone wins. £60 in blocks of ten minutes.
Who’d have thought? Smaller practices have better patient satisfaction than larger ones. Guess which ones @wesstreeting @DHSCgovuk @NHSEngland want to keep?🤔 Yep the large ones & make them even bigger! Good one Wes et al! 🤯 gponline.com/10-year-health…
Toxic? Nope Measured analysis of the serial failures of the GMC to ensure safe care for the public Interesting to review the MOU between the DHSC and GMC to register PAs in light of this
We should talk about the the inevitable q of how this mess happened. Prof Leng stated her review wouldn’t dwell on it. This is within her gift - the review is hard enough to land despite sticking to its precise question. But the question of how this happened cannot be ignored 1/
Thanks. So if a patient needs a Med3, or they have a problem with the wound you have provided information on how they should contact the team in writing and have a notice on your website as per regs. Show it to us? You can assure us that they won't be asked to contact the GP?
1/ Kate Matharu, a GP of 25 years, told The Guardian that resident doctors striking “harms patients” and that people who put finances first “shouldn’t be in the profession.” We should talk about why this perspective is deeply flawed.
Replacing nurses and doctors with lesser skilled workforce can be explained in this way: You have a gold standard bulb which gives a brighter light, is dimmable, lasts 50,000 hours and costs £10 The second bulb gives a dimmer light, isn’t dimmable, lasts 10,000 hours and costs…
A real deep dive into how this mess happened. Warts and all. Great work here by @Anisocyte

GP to manage post op issues without any additional resources.
The first patients to have their prostate glands surgically removed and go home on the same day have shared what recovery at home meant to them 🏡 We're the first Trust in our region to offer the major surgery as a day case robotic procedure. Full story: tinyurl.com/63rzcuc8
It’s either the RCP, Birmingham or the RCGP. Sigh.
#askforadoctor RCGP Reg Chair Why do people think they have a right to career progression which involves plating doctor without going to medical school. Medicine is about patients not ones good given right to career progression
I bet you are surrounded by people who tolerate you. People who you think are friends but actually because you have never experienced genuine friendships you can’t actually tell. If you could hear their internal monologue it would be devastating for you. Go well my friend.
Umaps seem to think we all want to fight. Some of us just want severance and to bow out gracefully.
This is really good from @brianoneill . We are now directing all complaints to local MLAs to pass on to Health Minister. The answer is proper staff and resource, not crucify the workforce
