A man finds himself, to his great astonishment, suddenly existing, after thousands and thousands of years of non-existence…
I think it’s funny people kept making the argument that US aid builds good will in countries when we have endless examples of shipping these people to our cities, giving them free housing, food, and healthcare and they still hate us.
Rep. Mana Abdi (D) says that moving here from Somalia "was bootcamp", slams the housing provided
One of the most predictable disasters in recent memory. NYC effectively banned short-term rentals like Airbnb—and now working-class people need to take out a second mortgage just to spend a weekend there. All in the name of ~helping.~ Total economic illiteracy.
What if, now hear me out, many shoplifters aren't actually need-driven but violent people who _also_ steal. And stopping and prosecuting shoplifters can deter violence. But short of that, it's good to conduct "routine traffic stops" that catch them. nydailynews.com/2025/07/25/cop…

American Jews do not run the Israeli government. So why is the New York City Comptroller telling us that we are not entitled to speak out against antisemitism and for our own safety unless we show ourselves to be 'good Jews'? This is an APPALLING take, and deeply offensive.
The mass starvation & killing of Palestinians in Gaza at the hands of the Israeli gov’t is a chillul hashem, a desecration of God. Jewish leaders who criticized Zohran Mamdani for three words he doesn’t use should raise their voices loudly here as well.forward.com/opinion/757549…
Zohran Mamdani called ICE agents in masks “militarized oppression.” Then flew to Uganda for his own wedding bash, guarded by masked riflemen, military tents, and a phone-jamming system — all at his millionaire family’s compound. ICE for thee, private militia for me.…

If you can't stand strong in support of suicide bombing, how are you going to fare when it comes to confiscating private property?
A very plausible--indeed highly likely--hypothesis. Therapeutic culture (aka "mental health awareness") has run amok with iatrogenic consequences. The petulance in our universities is one consequence.
This is Anthony Alexander. He receives free housing from the city of San Francisco. Anthony's room is full of mice. He believes it's the government's fault.
A reminder: framing homelessness as a problem of mental illness or addiction has been politically manufactured to divert attention from its *actual* causes—skyrocketing rents, poverty wages, gutted social supports—and to justify the removal of homeless people from public space.
Instead of reading stories about homelessness, I've worked with the homeless. In many capacities. Contemporary Western chronic homelessness is caused by drug addiction + the catastrophic dysfunctional culture of the dependent class.

This is the kind of madness you find almost exclusively among boomers. Leaving your fortune for other people’s kids but not your own is the weirdest kind of selfishness. Spite and resentment towards your own bloodline. I’ll never understand it. I’m not even 40 yet and already one…
Comedian and author Tony Hawks explains why he isn't leaving his son anything in his will.
People who think this have never actually spent time around the chronically homeless, they live in a clueless world of false realities based on nothing but “feelings” and random stories they were only half-listening to on NPR the other day

It turns out that the "Tea" app DOXXES all its users by uploading both ID and face verification photos, completely uncensored, to a public bucket on their server

King has been found.
This is my vibe for the rest of the summer.
I think we’re supposed to think this is bad, but using technology to detect and deter crime is in fact good.
Believing that 'plastic surgery makes everyone look weird and fake' is a great tell for unserious thinking. You do not notice the majority of cases, since they just look normal. The 'plastic surgery look' is the exception.
The day after October 7, the largest and most active student organization in my law school put out a statement in explicit support of Hamas. They went on to spearhead the local student protest movement. I will never, ever let them whitewash that.
The student protesters were obviously correct on Gaza. The reaction to them was obviously idiotic and depraved. We're probably still a while out from this being banal conventional wisdom, but it's coming.
I don't love the idea of arresting people at hearings, but look at this - he openly talks of passing through a dozen safe countries to come to the United States. His claim is inappropriate and dishonest from the start. And the law should be changed to exclude such cases properly.
what kind of immigrant knows perfectly well ICE is detaining ~everyone who shows up to their court hearings and goes to the hearing anyway? extremely courageous stubborn people who just really respect our laws
