Israel is committing mass atrocity crimes in Gaza. Palestinians civilians are now facing a choice between starving to death or being killed waiting for aid. In Parliament I recently called for further concrete action, including the immediate recognition of the State of Palestine
Tonight, France has announced it will recognise the state of Palestine at the UNGA conference in September. Since this letter was published, many more Labour MPs have joined our call for recognition. I urge the UK to make progress on this issue with our EU partners tomorrow.

With @hzomlot I expressed the UK's support for the Palestinian people and discussed advancing the two-state solution. The war in Gaza must end now. The suffering of civilians has reached horrifying new depths. This bloodshed must stop.
The suffering and starvation unfolding in Gaza is unspeakable and indefensible.
The IDF has killed starving Palestinian civilians trying to get aid. Settler terrorism and talk of imposing the illegal E1 settlement plan are flagrant attempts to prevent a Palestinian state. There is no justification for this. A two-state solution is the only path to peace.
We urgently need action to protect lives in Gaza to stop the violence against Palestinians and get the hostages home. I also spoke to the BBC about why we need to get on and recognise Palestine.
