Today's crises are testing the international community. We must collectively recommit to the principles of the @UN Charter to meet these challenges. The rule of law and multilateralism are the greatest tools we have to achieve peace and security.
The UK is doing all it can to alleviate Palestinian suffering in Gaza. Today we've announced a new humanitarian aid package. This includes vital funding for @UKMed, who have already treated over 500,000 Gazans over the course of the conflict.
The suffering of civilians in Gaza has reached new depths. Alongside 25 other partners, the UK message is clear: the war in Gaza must end now. We need an immediate ceasefire, release of all hostages and a full resumption of aid. gov.uk/government/new…
At the UN in New York, I attended informal talks with all parties to work towards progress which benefits all Cypriots. As a guarantor power, the UK is committed to @UN process on settlement. I welcome commitment from all sides to continue discussions & work with envoy Holguín.
Deeply concerned by the Israeli Civil Administration’s plan to revive the E1 settlement programme. If implemented, this would critically undermine a future Palestinian state and the path to a two-state solution - crushing the hopes of millions who wish for peace.
Appalling attacks in Sudan’s Kordofan region since the weekend, with estimates of over 450 killed, among them many children and pregnant women. I echo @UNHumanRights Chief @volker_turk’s calls for urgent de-escalation and protection of civilians. This violence must end now.
The UK is deeply concerned by violence in Syria and attacks on civilians. We call for the parties to de-escalate and for Israel to refrain from its destabilising attacks. Syrians deserve a peaceful, inclusive future for their country.
More than 800 Palestinians have been killed as they queue to get aid, including by IDF fire. This is abhorrent. Every day without a ceasefire, the hostages’ suffering increases and the death toll in Gaza rises. A deal must be reached and Israel must let the @UN save lives.
Glad to visit Libya for the first time to progress work to tackle smuggling gangs, reduce foreign interference in Libya and support democratic transition. I met President Mnefi and PM Dbiebah and urged them to engage constructively with the UN-facilitated political process.
Palestinians in Gaza are going days without eating. Some have already died from malnutrition. Hospitals are facing imminent shutdown due to lack of fuel and supplies. The UK and 🇩🇰🇫🇷🇬🇷🇸🇮 have called an urgent @UN Security Council meeting on the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

The @UN Security Council voted to renew @UN_Hudaydah's mandate. The UK remains committed to ensuring the UN can operate across its Missions in Yemen, including to deliver humanitarian aid and preserve space for a future UN-led peace process.

Today the @UN Security Council unanimously extended the mandate of @BINUH_UN in Haiti. The UK also co-sponsored @UN sanctions against two violent gangs, in response to escalating violence. These are important steps to support Haiti to restore peace and stability for Haitians.

Reports of women and children killed waiting in line for nutritional supplies yesterday in Gaza are horrific. The UK Government calls for an immediate and independent investigation into this incident. Protection for civilians and unhindered access to humanitarian aid is vital.
Those violating international law must be held to account. As famine spreads, we call on all parties in Sudan to let in aid now.
